Anyone think Tre’s ceiling is a first option?
Kid def has playmaking chops and his handle is advanced for a non PG Guard who can creat plenty of space and get his own shot.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Class
My 2024 vs. 2025 rankings ATM. Have not watched nearly as much of this class as last year, unfortunately. Work has been a lot.
1. Flagg
2. Harper
3. Bailey
4. Johnson
5. Sarr
6. Jakucionis
7. George
8. Edgecomb
9. Saraf
10. Holland (really hard choice for me b/t he, Gonzalez, and Traore)
I don't actually have much separation between the back 2/3rds of this lottery and the lottery last season, though... and I think last season was probably deeper with role-players (I'd take the top-20 of this draft over last year's top-20, but I think last year from 21-50 was probably better). This would be slightly different with the benefit of hindsight, but this draft will have some later guys that pop, too, and the top looks much better with a clear franchise altering talent (Flagg) + a guy that looks like he has a good chance to really be that (Harper) and some reasonably good consolation prizes. I am still likely way too high on George lol.
EDIT: let's add 2023 just to be consistent:
1. Wemby
2. Flagg
3. Harper
4. Scoot
5. Miller
6. Bailey
7. Amen
8. Johnson
9. Sarr
10. Black
That's my best guess at ... if you grabbed me pre-draft every year with no knowledge of what would play out ... how I would rank guys. Obviously there is still some hindsight bias but Scoot & Black (point guards who couldn't shoot) are my misses here (not that I don't think they won't have long and productive NBA careers).

Earlier in the season I had Tre around top 8, Now I have him around 4-5. But that's also because Kasparas has been awful and VJ/Tre have been going crazy.
Fears is reminding me why I was high on him earlier. His ability to get paint touches and being so prolific at getting to the FT-line is an underrated skill in today's NBA.

Ya Fears hit a wall but the talent is there. He is a 10 or so pick IMO, dropping him out of the lotto is too much. He is so young and isnt a plug-and-play guy. But a team that can develop him a bit would be smart to snag him in the 10-14 range IMO. I can see him going as high as CHI's FRP.

Getting #3 means missing out. I think Harper is pretty damn close in terms of a great #1 pick.
Hi i´m from Spain Hugo is not a lottery pick. At most, from pick 25 onwards, more like second round.
I like this list in general, but I want to add two names. The first is Fleming, he has been in college for three years but he is still 20 years old, if he doesn't get out of the lottery he will be a steal, he is the prototype of an NBA defensive 4, he is tough, he can shoot threes, incredible.
Another name that I like a lot is Carter Bryant, probably one of the best defensive forwards in college in a strange offensive system, he is limited but lately he is seen with more freedom and I like him a lot. He doesn't have many numbers but because he is tied up 48,5% FG, 35,8 3P%
Queen has talent but let's talk about her physique. Because she doesn't have a good physique right now, I don't understand how with the opportunity of her life she is not at 100%. She has pounds to spare.
In my opinion I would add to that tier 3: Fleming & Carter Bryant too and would remove Traoré.
Greetings.

Will Riley with a nice game in a win over Purdue. His best hoops is ahead of him. I like him outside the lottery.

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Class
Only a couple games left in the season for Ace.
Year started catastrophic before having a really good stretch, and then he didn't do much in the last month and a half of the year.
If you squint, you can kind of see him as a guy like Markkanen. Non-dribbling guy who isn't very smart, but can really shoot and finish at the rim and play defense well enough.
But his percentages and 3P rate and FT rate are just not nearly good enough to suggest he can be as good as Markkanen at those things. And he has no other path to stardom.
I guess VJ has to be #3? But man, taking Jalen Suggs 2.0 with the 3rd pick sucks.
The tanking teams that don't get #1 and #2 seem like they're going to be in for a miserable offseason.

He kind of reminds me of a better Obi Toppin...but he needs to finish at the rim better.

S+ tier: Flagg
A tier: Harper
B tier: Like 10-15 guys
Flagg I think is the 4th best prospect since LeBron. Just behind Wemby, Oden, and Zion and maybe just ahead of AD and Durant.

I have Flagg neck and neck with Zion and favor him but I agree Flagg is an incredible prospect.

Right! Riley has a handle and can play and create on ball. High IQ player.
I think once Riley fills in and can play through and create contact he could be a monster offensively and hold his own defensively. He competes.
See him 10-20 right now.

Suggs isn’t a bad floor for VJ but VJ is a much better vertical athlete and has already shown way more from 3 than Suggs. The way he’s developing his absolute ceiling is on ball first option. Hes showing chops in PNR and DHO scoring and passing.

Anyone think Tre’s ceiling is a first option?
Kid def has playmaking chops and his handle is advanced for a non PG Guard who can creat plenty of space and get his own shot.
His role model is probably a guy like Devin Booker. I think he's still primarily an off-ball scorer who plays next to a solid PG and a dynamic wing, but he's a good ball-mover who can take some on-ball reps.
I think that outside of the top 2 guys, Tre is probably the safest player in the draft. You can pretty much pencil him in as 25-pt scorer who won't hurt your defense, ball movement or pace of play. His ability to score off of movement and shoot with a quick release should fit in with any team.

Booker is a 1st option. I think that’s Tre’s ceiling. He is so good off ball getting open and his range is so deep on ball and off ball shooting off movement he will produce some significant gravity.
He’s been getting doubled and blitzed in PNR most of the season and rarely forces it. Almost always makes the right play.
His floor is 2nd best in the draft after Flagg. His ceiling is probably 4th after Flagg Ace and Dylan.
I will be shocked if he falls past 5th spot of draft day.

Reminds me more of Isacc Okoro. 3/D guy built like a tank. Quicker hands than Okoro w/ a worse (but projectable IMO) shot.

His floor game is light years ahead of Corner 3 Okoro. This dude has a handle and all kinds of moves.
