Frustrating timeout by Doc to allow them time to decide to challenge. Also frustrating final shot, which on replay looked like his foot might have even been on the line. Should be able to run a go-to Dame/Giannis action with 6 seconds and a side out.

Oh well, Magic shot out of their minds and good to see the fight to come back. Doesn't get any easier moving forward...

He did well. I still want Marques as the #1 but Novak should get bounced. But I think this was just a 1 or 2 game thing.

20-22 FT, 48% TS. It's really just the abysmal 3P shooting that drags everything down.

Give Trent some of those minutes and it's a likely win. Hope he's back soon.

Understand people are reflexively glad no Novak. But Wes sucked. He’s got to work a chunk of UW Green Bay games first. His ‘best’ line was when he talked about when he played ‘there’ referring to playing for Milwaukee. Uh no, you’re ‘here’ tonight in Milwaukee.

And what’s the deal with allowing Lisa to take all this time off for college games during the weekends? And then you do Lisa Byington ‘hat night’ on a night Lisa isn’t even around?

Sorry, I got no takes on the game other than Orlando hit some tough shots down the stretch.

Gotta give the ball to Giannis at the end there. Not mad at it though, fun game that we could’ve and should’ve won.

Let kpj play and create more

Was at the game, were the refs as bad as I thought they were? Doesn’t excuse the loss but they seemed horrible.

He also doesn't create shots for others at that point because he's looking for Dame Time and he has suspect vision. Leads to having just about the worst offense in the NBA late in games.

It's part on Dame, & on Doc. His crutch and handicap is to implicitly trust his stars. It leads to him getting so many jobs managing them, while never near maximizing their talent.

The clutch numbers are awful and the shot was just as bad but I'm still living with it. If you're not then Dame may as well not be here (I know some are fine with that). To me the play earlier that had Green take an awful shot was way worse.

They were corrupt. It was extremely one-sided, and it's remarkable how that happens on our home floor. You could dismiss it sometimes on the road if they get caught up in the crowd, but we get it at Fiserv too.

And we got Orlando's A+ game on both ends. This is not the garbage team they've been the last 2 months. For whatever reason they brought it against us. Either they go on a run, or it's going to be really annoying they did that.

Those are caveats. But it doesn't excuse the unawareness in off ball d, allowing too much dribble penetration, our offensive decision-making, not having more 3-point shooters out there (we win this w/ Trent though), and bad play calls down the stretch.

This.

I have no issues with Dame taking the final shot if it's a reasonable look. The "step back heave hero-ball shot' was not a reasonable shot.

He's not even looking to involve anyone else if there's another option. He has complete tunnel vision in that scenario regardless of how difficult the shot is.

I'm definitely team "we should have a play in the pocket for this situation" but assuming it wasn't, what was the option? Brook contested at 35 feet? Prince/Green in corners with contested passing lanes? Throw it through 3 guys to Giannis under the rim? Of course there was tunnel vision, the call that literally everyone in the arena knew was Dame was shooting that shot.

But I'm sure we'll also hear about how Dame is forcing Doc's hand in these situations and demanding the shot or something.

That or maybe it's time to give Andre Jackson Jr some minutes

He can score zero points but at least have an impact on defense

Giannis called the small ball closing lineup as, "a good look," which is encouraging to hear as he was playing the 5. Dame/KPJ/Prince/Kuz/Giannis... pretty nice.

Out of our last timeout selfish Dame time hero ball gave the ball to AJ Green with 21 seconds on the shot clock so he could shoot this off the dribble.

Obviously Dame told Giannis to stand in the paint triple teamed, Brook to be in the one spot at the three point line that allows one of Giannis defenders to easily contest, and AJ and Prince to stand in the corners with their hands on their knees. So he could make Dame Time more dramatic.

It was an ugly possession but that freeze frame shows the Magic defended that play perfect. It also helped that no one on our team was moving.

It was so odd. There were 25 seconds left when we inbounded. It's not like we were going for a 2 for 1. Calling a play for Green was fine but when defended like that Green can't take that shot. But he did.

I enjoyed Wes calling out the Bucks’ (I wonder who specifically…?) lack of defensive urgency.

Going into the season I wanted AJ to be the starting SG but sadly the guy can’t even figure out how to get off a shot.
