Yikes
He has earned every penny.
He’s played well for a month. Calm it down.

4 years ago Cleveland won 22 games. There best player was Colin Sexton. Since then they drafted Darius Garland #5, Isaac Okoro #5 and Evan Mobley #3.
They actually tanked. You missed the point again. The issue with Giddey is that he’s too good to let you pick top 5 but he not good enough to lead you anywhere past the first round. We’re essentially a treadmill team.

Cleveland tanked and still only got two 5s and a 3. And only two panned out. In the 2021 draft were they took Mobley... Giddey went 6th.

Over last 31 games: 14.7/8.6/6.4 on 46/40/83

31 games>82 math checks out. Giddey is not even a top 10 PG. why are you going so hard for him.

His evaluation should be heavily weighted towards post TDL due to his role changing significantly and it being the role you will resign him for and be willing to pay for. His games since TDL def check out as a top 3 player on a good team. I do expect his numbers to dip a little when Vuc returns, mostly scoring.

DrModesty wrote:I've been a pro Giddey poster here. He is not a top 10 PG in this league. That said, half the league has a starting point guard on the max, and there are another half dozen PG's on $30m+. What that shows, is the lead ball handlers get paid huge money. Prior to the change in circumstances I thought Giddey would be a low 20s contract. If this keeps up he might be on Jalen Green money. By the way, he is clearly better than Jalen Green. He has been his entire career outside of Green's sporadic good months he has 1-2 months per season. Jalen Green's contract shows how much of a bump 'potential' puts on rookie extensions.

Name me the better 10 PG's. None of them have his rebounding numbers to compliment the court vision and assists/TO ratio. Or do they have better shooting percentages?
I know you're a Giddey supporter, but how can you also say that he's not an elite producer for his role?
The issue is that you have to build a team around him. Defense, rim protectors, and 3-pt shooters. Lonzo, Ayo, Matas, Coby (?). So is he worth building a team around? He's only 22 years old?
I don't know if Giddey is worth it, and as I think about it, I'm actually not sure what I'm trying to say here. I just think Josh could be a really good player on an elite team if that team is well constructed. But I also don't trust AKME to construct that team. He certainly can't be on the same starting lineup with Vuc, which is why we've probably seen more success recently even though we've been "tanking".
