One Last Try-CWhite/Vuc to Orl

Post#1 » by pipfan » Sun Mar 9, 2025 7:29 pm

KCP/Howard to Bulls, plus the #11 pick
White/Vuc to Orl (MAYBE the Port pick too?)

KCP's been a disappointment in Orl-this move gives Orl MUCH more scoring
Suggs/Anthony
White/Black
Franz/TSD
Paolo/Isaac
Carter/Vuc/Goga
Den pick is best wing available

Plus White/Vuc both expire, to help the cap situation in 2026. I am counting KCP as a negative contract here-Bulls would try hard to move him to a 3rd team

Bulls go with
Giddy/Ayo/Carter
Ball/Huerter
Matas/Howard
PWill/Phillips
Collins/Smith
Plus the #8 and #11 picks, and the contract they get for KCP (who would want him?)

Thoughts?

I dont believe you that this is the last try

I dont think orlando can take back more than 100 % outgoing btw. Anthony needs to head out too

I respect your dedication to make this happen. I don't see our front office taking Vuc back honestly. Hes expiring after next year so unless we can route him to third team, its a no go. Im fine with KCP and Jett. Our FRP will likely end up being mid first round. I don't value that pick as much as others. If we can get Coby to agree to an extension 4 years 80mil sign and trade, CHI can have our FRP.

If KCP is such a negative contract then YOU need to move him to a different team and not leave it to somebody else to figure it out. Too easy to just make your trade to get #11 but not have it not pay off for the Bulls on the balance sheet.

The Magic may want Coby White but unless he resigns they only did this for a one year playoff shot. Coby's not that big of a difference maker. Wait for the Magic fans to tell you they really don't want Vuc 5 years older coming back even for an expiring year. I doubt ORL sees the future savings on KCP's contract as enough to move off that #11 pick and he's a nice complimentary player who is paid too much for too long to be easily redirected.

Can't we in theory just sign and trade for him next summer?

Dallas could make a very comparable deal happen if this is what it costs for Coby? Feels like an overpay, but worth it to me.

Dallas probably does Coby and the Portland first for Klay and 11-13 (wherever we fall in that range) right? Coby helps a lot with Kai out and then can play with him when he’s back?

If you want to add a Gafford/Vuc swap in? Salaries are legal if you delay it until the first round pick counts as matching. Or just make Chicago take Powell, shouldn’t be a deal breaker atp.

But I’m not sure Dallas really wants to bring in two offensive players like that.

Vucevic is back to negative value imo. The hot shooting was very nice for a couple of months, but frankly Collins has hit 90% of his production while being a better defender and being less demanding of the ball.

We can but I don't think front office will wait until then. Now ay we go another year without a PG after this year mess.

He'll be on an expiring contract this summer, and while $21M is more than you want to pay a guy coming off the bench, he could be very effective as a 6th man, especially on a team that struggles with spacing or to get bench points.

If a trade partner is assigning negative value to Vuc, the Bulls should audition him in that role next season and revisit his trade value as a useful expiring at the deadline.

Also, the Bulls will still want something for facilitating a S&T and taking back unwanted salary.

Right. If we can unload a long term contract like WCJr or KCP, we will gladly give up a FRP to do that and lock up Coby to something like 4 year 80mil.
