If the Blazers just lose out and get a little help with the ping pong balls, then move Grant for whatever, this team could be fun to watch next season if they have a good summer of training. How do they get a #1 option???

I really have no idea. There is the risky buy-low option on Zion - but I dont think he has the mental makeup or conditioning to really be a #1 option on a team that goes deep. After that, its hit a home run on a #10 pick - which is not likely.

Re this game - DC started slow but ended up playing one of his most well rounded games of his short career. Showed the shotblocking (4), passing (6), hit a 3, managed a positive +/- in a 10 point loss and potentially most importantly - managed 32mpg without passing out and even better w/ only 3 fouls. Great to see.

Deni continues to show he might be a legit #3 option on a real team IMO. Camara sort of coming back to earth - he really is a glue guy, a great one at that, but not versatile enough to really be a offensive option.

Sharpe dissapears again - Scoot w/ one of his worst +/- performances since he seemed to turn the corner.

End of the day - still the same team w/o direction, stuck in that horrible spot of not being even play-in and not being good enough for a blue chip pick.

this all was predictable....I actually predicted it before the season started although I was praying to be wrong

* (Simons is CJ 2.0. Only he's worse on both ends of the floor but doesn't have a Dame to defer too, so it's bombs away after some dribble-mania. This season marks the 10th straight season that Portland has started an 'undersized-no-defense-tweener-guard' in the back court. And does anybody doubt the Blazers will start the 2nd decade of the same foolishness next season?)

but the big worry is that Cronin is Olshey 2.0; just without all the condescension. He does practice Olshey's word salad in press conferences though. But he sure does appear to suffer Olshey's delusion of grossly overrating his guys, and because of that delusion, sees a playoff team that nobody else can see, making him willing to reboot obvious failure hoping for a better result next time

he can turn it all around, obviously, by finally extracting his cranium from his colon and choosing the direction he should have chosen when he traded Dame. I don't think he will though. If anything he might double down and trade the pick for another role player and set the goal as the play-in next season

One thing I'll never ever understand is why the Blazers purposely tried to lose the last two seasons when Lillard was on the team, and then suddenly capitulated to trying to win once he was gone. If that isn't an indictment of head meets colon, I don't know what is...

This game just shows the gap the Blazers have to close to be remotely competitive.

While I am glad Olshey is gone, I do miss making satirical condescending "Look! Blah blah blah" posts.

The Sharpe season, Dame was injured. I get that. The Spurs got Duncan by shutting an injured Robinson down.
The Scoot season, no idea other than incompetent management. Didn't address roster weaknesses in the off-season. Didn't commit to a full rebuild. Just kind of milked a season of Dame's career.
Because love can burn like a cigarette.
And leave you left with nothing.
