Dalek wrote:Thomas Sorber is my pick if we don't get into the top 5.

-Sorber at 19 YO, a full year younger than D Queen and a half year on CMB
-250 lbs - significantly heavier than both - very useful as a screen setter
-15.6 AST% fits Toronto as a high-low passer and in pick and pop
-7.5 Blk% primarily a drop-big, but he is so good at vertical contests (Daniel Gafford level)
-2.7 STl% elite at deflections/ball strips. Hands really stand out as he is fast like Jokic or Sengun, he is deceptive.
-42 FTR / 72% from the line - very good aggression and shooting indicators
-4.1 BPM elite numbers for +50 ranked freshman playing in the Big East

Overall, Sorber is underrated because of the foot injury/surgery and off the radar a bit, but the two-way effectiveness and skill level showed. The touch and IQ and defensive awareness all remind me a lot of Al Horford who over time figured out the outside shot.

Sorber isn't 7ft, but I think there is some special upside to the kid. Raptors are unafraid to take a player they like even if they are injured (like OG).

To me, the separator is the defensive playmaking from Sorber because it is rare for high major freshman to have his defensive numbers coupled with the scoring and playmaking. CMB is similar but 20 lbs lighter, so I don't know if he really can play C like Sorber.

For the undrafted route, I'd love to get Micah Peavy (special defender and shooter) and since Sorber went out is scoring well over 22 PPG and 50% from three in nine games.

Welcome aboard Dalek. I've pretty much been Sorber's #1 fan on here all season. I still haven't been able to pin down if he's going to declare for the draft or go back for his sophomore season though.

These two will likely be the top two available names on the Bilas board when we're on the clock.

Jase is my guy if the top 5 plus Maluach are gone but I'd def be fine with either of them.

Also looks like Harper and Bailey are done with their college careers unless they play NIT or something lol

What if he can't shoot the 3 at all? Bigger Tony Parker?

Trade down get multiple picks and draft Sergio de Larrea instead.

If he turns out to be a bigger Tony Parker, that's a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN.

I'd take Traore, the Raptors will develop his jumpshot

I can see teams being more hesitant on Maluach and Kasparas..don't think they're a guaranteed top 7. The others are very likely to go top 7

if stirtz has long WS he might end up PG1 for me because of how much i hate a lot of the guards this year

this guy seems to think he does

Read on Twitter

i didn't realize synergy had his priors and he is comfortably an 80% free throw shooter probably higher was at 84-85% a couple years ago

he can probably become 85% ft shooter in nba - one concern that the 79% this season was high end has been busted

my other concern was his WS but i'm genuinely gonna simp so hard for him if it's a long WS. it may very well be and that's the actual reason his 2pt% and rim finishing and steal rate are areas of strength. his 2pt rate almost touched .700 two years ago i don't care what level of ball it was that is crazy. masai usually doesn't have the balls to go for these types of players.

if they measure the kid and he comes in at 6'9 WS i'll be tempted

Wingspan doesn’t matter if you can play. Stirtz can ball, bottom line.

Tony wouldn’t be Tony without Pop, Tim Duncan, and the Spurs culture. Traore has a nice skill set but he needs to have a better jump shot at that size. His game is very 90’s at the moment.

2025 NBA Draft Prospect Part 3

Post#1877 » by BoyzNTheHood » Thu Mar 13, 2025 3:50 am

Jase is firmly in the top 6 right now. I’m really trying to include Fears in the top 7, but with him it’s more about potential for me.

And if we fall lower than that I’m crashing out and looking for a diamond in the rough. Just going completely ape and starting to look at a guy like Dink Pate. If he gets a consistent jump shot he’d be running roughshod over the G-League.

it definitely does matter for a player's ultimate outcome. shead with a 6'9 WS is probably rajon rondo. VJ with a 6'9 wingspan probably has tony allen level event creation. dwade with a 6'5 WS doesn't end up in HOF. WS means a lot.

stirtz only had a very small portion of his possessions vs t80-100ish defenses, he dominated legitimate garbage. i need WS to believe in the scale up and overcoming really bad defensive opponents. the good news is he might have it.

Jimmy Butler, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, FVV, GROAT, Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, Steph Curry, Ja Morant, Maxey, Jamal Murray, Jrue Holiday, etc etc etc beg to differ.

Whether Stirtz has it or not doesn’t change the fact that he’s a stud. He’s doing exactly what he’s supposed to do versus his competition. An elite tournament might bring him into the 20’s.
