Trae with a great Heat audition tonight showing the Heat he can single handedly beat a Charlotte team that just embarrassed us as long as Spo doesn’t make him defer to Terry Highsmith Wiggins and Jaime like Spo does with Bam and Herro from time to time

Hawks won by 13 in a game that Trae Young played 35 mins and was +6, so they were +7 in the 13 mins he was on the bench too. 35 points in 35 mins on 35% shooting...

Trae of course is a better get than Lauri but the Hawks may hold onto him. Been looking into this situation a little deeper and Hawks fans want to keep him especially since they don’t even own their pick next year outright which is tied into a swap still with the Spurs.

Trading him to the Heat who’s been in close competition with them in the division fighting for the playoff spot makes no sense for them even of they were to get future picks. They need to remain competitive not just swap him out for dead beat expiring contracts.

Trading Hunter and Bogi gave the illusion of them selling off but also could have been made to free up money for Trae’s extension and free up the SF spot for Risacher. On the other hand Trae could ask out but with zero ties pointing to the Heat he’ll probably be asking to head back home to OKC.

C Bam Adebayo 6’9 C Kelel Ware 7’0
PF Lauri Markkanen 6’10 PF Nikola Jovic 6’10
SF Andrew Wiggins 6’7
SG Tyler Herro 6’5
PG Dylan Harper 6’5 or SG/PG VJ Edgecombe 6’5 PG Jeremiah Fears 6’4 PG Kasparas Jakucionis 6’6

That’s a pretty good foundation of a team

Did you catch Newell’s 21 and 17 last night? Absolute stud. Fears was also showing out

I didnt. Probably shouldve watched that game instead of the Heat. Fears and Newell viewing in the same game is must see Heat fan TV.

Was going back and forth but settled on watching this great matchup. Fears looks every bit the real deal. Trade for Lauri and draft Fears if we end up in the back end of the top 10.

I fear that Fears may move up if he plays well in the tourney. I could see him move closer to top 5. After the current big 4, hes up there with anybody else with a good bunch of games in March.

A 2 way guard....Im taking that over Kasparas, Maluach, Kunipple, Tre, etc.

The problem is that no way good old Danny trades Lauri cheap. Our lottery pick and Ware would be the foundation of any trade. Ideally we would want Danny to get the top pick so they get Flagg then they can be open to trading Lauri.

Think Lauri seems a lot more likely than Durant or Young. And yes if Danny wins the Flagg he’ll trade Lauri. Danny will have eyes on our 2030 and 2032 picks. Those are valuable to his vault.

Lauri also doesn't create offense. He's just one of the best shooters in NBA. Assisted on 75%+ of his FGM virtually every season and never even had a 10% assist percentage. He's a nice puzzle piece, but he gets overrated.

In Terry we trust. Best tank commander in the league?

Good news is that AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson and Cameron Boozer have the 2026 draft looking real strong on the top, as well. Let's get a top 5 pick then trade Terry as an expiring contract to a team that is in need of his tank commander services.

I'm only kind of kidding.

I have it recorded to check out when I have time this week. Glad they both put on a good showing.

Wiggins reached 14000pts.
Only 197 players of all time have reached that.

Pretty good for him even more if we take into account that he spent 5 years of his career as a sidekick in Warriors offense.

He seems to me that he forgot how is to be a prime scoring option after so many years with Warriors but he seems better every game with Miami

With Warriors he was used as a catch & shoot 3pt shooter and he was not getting screens in order to attack the basket

His role now is very different and he is getting better with the games.
He will be full ready for the playoffs with one more month of acclimating to the team and the new role.
I know that he is capable for more than he produces now.
Hope Miami will stay relevant until the playoffs

Think he would be a great puzzle piece. Not many big stretch 4’s out there that you can deem an ideal fit with size that work with Bam and even Wiggins now. Our backcourt needs one more dynamic piece to make everything work with Herro and i’m hoping that comes via the draft

Wiggins play style is that he can be a jack of all trades, but is a master of none. He can do a little bit of everything from a scoring perspective (C&S, drive, post-up, off-ball cutting) but he's not top tier at any of them. He also isn't a particularly good playmaker and lacks court vision for a high usage role.

His athleticism and defense paired with his jack of all trades versatility give him a nice floor as a player, but after an entire career of showing who he is, Miami should def not expect a new higher ceiling to emerge.

With that said, I'm all for pumping up Wiggins value and numbers. That can increase his trade value and/or increase the probability that he opts out after next season to pursue one last big pay day on the open market. All good for Miami's roster flexibility and optionality going into a 2026 offseason where Miami will have to commit to the roster construction for the next window.

Yea it’s a hard pass for me, of the guys who we already know are available I’ll be happy with KD or Trae

Wiggins is elite at driving to the basket and I think he will showcase it with Miami.

Based on the role he has a mediocre start with the Heat.
I have seen him having plenty of big games with Minesota and he is a better player and more skilled now.

I expect him to continue to improve his performances game by game

Yea get his value up, already praying he’s traded this offseason for a true difference maker and someone our best players actually should be deferring to

I’m sorry but this is just a bad take and single game +\- doesn’t account for momentum swings possibly caused by Traes big scoring and playmaking night. 35 points on 20 shots is elite and you forgot to mention the 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Just an elite overall floor game.
