What's the deal with this kid? IQ? Ego? Hard to coach? 20 pt 20 rb double doubles are impressive no matter what league you're in. He can't find a bench role in the league?
I've wondered that myself. I've not watched Westchester, so I've not seen him play and the Mavs board is kind of quiet and they didn't make a thread about him, despite him playing 4 games over his 10-day contract with them. He played minutes, put up solid stats.
He's been waived by a boatload of teams. OKC's 2021 doesn't count, because it was a pre-trade waive and sign.

But, waived by the Mavs, Feb 10, 2022
got a regular season contract with the Cavs, but let go after the season
Signs with the Clippers July 2022, waived by them Feb 2023
Signed and later waived by the Knicks, March 2023
Also, 2023, signed with the Nets and the Blazers - neither team kept him
Signed and waived a day later (WTF was that) by the Knicks, Oct 2024
Signed by the Pacers, Nov 2024, waived 20 days later
The Mavs recent 10 day was different. Dallas is like NY and very limited in what they can spend, so they had to release him. They might have liked him and still had to release him to avoid Apron problems. But even if we ignore Dallas, that's 8 teams that either waived him or let him walk at the end of his 1 year/minimum contract.
That's a lot of teams.
The only thing I could find on google was 3 years old, so, grain of salt:

The "looks like a newborn giraffe out there" was my favorite comment.

The Mavs fans seemed to like him, and he was released from there due to salary limits. There's a brief highlight clip of him making a shot in the Mavs thread.
It's maybe worth pointing out, the only reason he got so many minutes with Dallas those 2 games was their injury issues and short lineup.

And I'm not saying I'm pro or con, only that, this is what I've read about him.
All that said, I think Brown would be interesting enough, but I don't think he'd make much difference and I don't see Thibs playing him.
With Thibs being a dumb dick, it really doesn't matter. We had Huk rotting on the bench. We aren't gonna see Precious now that Mitch is back. Moses will never play. Neither will 9-10 of the other guys on the roster.
It's just wild to me that this dude can't keep a job. Something is up that make teams get rid of him and no one is looking to give him a shot even when they need a center.
