I'd do a 2nd in a heart beat but with the current reports of a 1st plus extra it's a pass

That said I'm pretty confident that price will come down so I'll remain hopeful

Sign Kupp 1 year $6 mil

Trade a 2nd or 3rd and Jaire for Hendrickson. Give him 3 years $90 mil with 50 guarenteed. Basically a 2 year deal

Dillon is a good guy and loved Green Bay. No need for him here, I hope he does well

Hendrickson is getting a whole lot more then that. He isn't signing that deal

(not to mention why on earth Cincy would want to take back money in a deal when the reason Hendrickson is available is because they need to cut cap for Chase/Higgens)

Not that it really means anything one way or the other, but Jaire congratulating new guys and welcoming them seems like a sign he could be staying? Of course, he could be traded or released at any second, but maybe they mended things.

Wait for Hendrickson's price to come down to a 2nd and give him a front-loaded extension. Draft best corner available (I'm good with Barron or Revel), D-line and WR later in the draft. I'm good with that offseason.

Dante Fowler would be good if there’s no trade for Hendrickson. He’d be a solid silver medal for the pass rush.

I don't have my hopes up too far on a Hendrickson trade but I can't help thinking there's legitimate interest there if the Bengals ever get reasonable. Something is delaying Gute from adding a pass rusher (could easily also just be waiting out the market a bit). I have to believe he knows that drafting a guy at #23 or on day 2 and running it back with what we already have isn't really a good enough plan.

I'm fine with Gute balking at these prices for an Edge rusher if he's going to address it in the first round of the draft though. That's one position where I think you can easily expect immediate impact out of a rookie. I'd just be more worried that Hobbs didn't really address the corner room and we still need to add 1-2 more guys there because you can't trust Jaire's body. I think we've just spent a bunch of money on depth guys so far.

I've decided I want to keep Jaire. Obviously the injury thing is a big concern but IF healthy he's still pretty damn good. We would save about $6.8 million in cap space if cut now and if Gute absolutely needs that money to sign/trade for someone then fine. Otherwise roll the dice for one more year. If we cut him after this year it's a cap savings of $17 million next offseason.

LCB: Alexander, Nixon
RCB: Valentine, Draft (R1-3)
Nickel: Hobbs, Bullard

That's how I see it as well..Alexander, when healthy, is pretty good. Grab a young gun in the early few rounds if a good one falls. (Have my eye on Hairston from Kentucky or Thomas from Florida State R2)

The risk of him being hurt again is better than the risk of cutting/trading him and watching him remain healthy with another team. Just give him one more year to prove he can stay healthy and draft another cornerback. We still have 32 mil left in cap space and I doubt we sign anyone else of note. Sign your rookies, extend the two tackles early (or at least one of them) and let's start the season as currently constructed.

I'm not saying there's a clean solution but I feel like we spent all last offseason gaslighting ourselves over how awesome these WRs were and then they didn't deliver. None of them have done anything to make me turn up my nose at adding a vet.
