I’m pretty sure it’s directly correlated to the addition of deuce and subtraction of JB as well lol

Maybe, just maybe, the difference with Brunson vs. McBride. McBride is better as a POA defender, which allows Bridges and OG and Hart to be disruptive on the perimeter and not run around screens every time.

Our D Rating in the 3 games since Brunson went down is 107.3

In the 4 games we had Mitch and Brunson, it was 112.2

The one game we had neither it was 107.1.

Amazing sample sizes. Trade Brunson and KAT. Start Deuce and Mitch. Championship.

I mean SOS has something to do with this. Any time we play the top 3 teams, they seem to score 140+ ppg so if you want to compare apples here, I need to no-mitch DRTG vs teams not named Celtics, Cavs, Thunder.

Time to trade or bench Brunson!

Curious what makes you think his defense is bad?

He's had a ton of deflections with many leading to turnovers and fast breaks. He also puts pressure on opposing bigs when they are holding the ball on screens.

Don't get me wrong, he still has a ways to go to improve his timing on contesting shots and avoiding ticky tacky foul calls, but the core skill-set is there.

It just feels to me like he’s late and clumsy, and fairly easy to trick on defense as well. But, it’s all eye test.

It may be more about cohesion and JB being out

its more about the opp being reluctant to drive to the basket and settle more for long jumpers... also he is good at contesting three pointers... but his rebounding has been atrocious... awful timing and positioning

That will come with more playing time. He's still getting his playing legs back and his rhythm as you mention.

Well it is possible that he could be positively effecting the defense while at the same time not helping enough on offense to overcome the lack of offense or a surefire scorer like Brunson. In reality Mitch pairs well when we do have guys who can create off the dribble like Brunson. They don't really look for him whether it's Deuce or Brunson but Brunson can will you baskets that Deuce can't. So it does make sense that he could still be minus 10 but help our defense.

Despite going to OT 3 times, we're averaging 107.25pts against in the 8 games since Robinson got back...just 103.75 in regulation.

The defense is already much better like expected. He will have another month until the playoffs start---without any setback I think it is realistic he could get back to 25-30 minutes for the playoffs which at least would allow a solid 8 man rotation.

Right, the difference between last night and the game versus Golden state was beyond night and day. So at this rate I think he'll get there sooner rather than later.
