That's funny because Russ was probably one of the very few starting QB's that Rodgers was better than last year.

It's amazing to see how far Rodgers has fallen over these last couple years. From back-to-back MVPs to players preferring to play with DangeRuss over him. Life comes at you fast.

Imagine in 2020 saying the Steelers and Giants would be debating which one gets Aaron Rodgers and which gets Russell Wilson

I think you're just inaccurately categorizing a "vertical threat" as being restricted to boundary WR's with sub 4.4 track speed.

The main difference is the inability by Reed to beat anything resembling man coverage last season. If the Packers only go against zone defenses next year they'll be fine. But if anyone tries to man them up with Watson out they are likely to struggle just like they did vs Minnesota & Philly.

And it's hardly just me saying this. If you listen to any of the prominent Packers pods or read any of the WR stuff by Acme Packing Co. They've all discussed the Packers need to add a guy who can get open deep and can be a man beater.

This article does a fairly good job of showing what the Packers need in a WR addition, someone who can beat man defenses

https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2025/2/13/24364608/2025-nfl-free-agency-wide-receiver-advanced-stats-green-bay-packers-targets

That extra 1" and 30 pounds or so makes one prototypical and the other less durable. So-called '#1 WRs' aside, a couple larger WRs on the field means there's no need to be hanging Reed or Doubs out to dry.

Dallas hasn't spent over six mil (annually) on an external free agent since 2010 (Greg Hardy). It would be hilarious if Kupp breaks that streak.

Dyami Brown got $10 million. Kupp for $13-$14 million makes sense.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I kinda liked Wilson more than McDuffie.

I think Wilson was slightly better than McDuffie overall. He had some nice games early on in the season before they inserted Cooper into the lineup on a more permanent basis. Probably more to do with McDuffie being 5 years younger and his relationship with Hafley. Maybe they think there's still some untapped potential there that Jeff can squeeze out.

That's insane money for this version of Kupp if that's anywhere near what he ends up signing for. Like I said, teams get really dumb with contracts whenever these cap spikes happen. It's inevitable.

*inb4 it's only ever about the guaranteed cash* Yeah, I know.

I don't understand why Washington let him go, Fowler was perfect in their system.
