If there is a rational argument for Jokic over SGA, there is a rational argument for Steph.

Not even close. Jokic is multiple tiers better than Steph. Steph simply isn’t anywhere near an MVP caliber player at this point in his career.

Multiple tiers eh? Then I fully expect Jokic to lead his team to a better record than Steph at this point in his career. No excuse for not doing so right?

Steph gets his team wide open shots just by sharing the floor with them. He's still incredibly valuable.

Multiple tiers might be a stretch. Steph is putting up 28/6/4 on 51/43/97 shooting splits post all star break, and has gradually played better as the season has gone on. He has shown that he's still that guy, he just cant do it 82 games night in and night out anymore.

I’m not sure where I said he’s not incredibly valuable. He can be both incredibly valuable and nowhere close to Jokic.

Give me a break with this post all star break bs. What is that 10-12 games? How many were against playoff teams? And of those playoff teams, how many were healthy? Is it even one? Almost any player in this league can be good for a stretch of games that short. If you can’t be dominant for 82 games plus playoffs you’re not comparable to Jokic.

Just depends what happens in the playoffs. That’s where true value can be evaluated the best.

Jokic shot more free throws tonight than the entire hospital Lakers team. Very unethical.

The MVP and his team just allowed almost 130 points and almost lost to the Gleague Lakers.

Jokic and his team can’t stop a nosebleed. They are not contenders. Joker is just there this season to put up pretty stats on a mid team.

These are often the hardest games to win. It’s hard to sometimes game plan for teams that have all the pressure of winning removed.

Was it not two weeks ago when Houston gleague team led by Reed Sheppard kept the Rockets in it against a healthy Thunder team?

The games were vaguely similar

Tonight the Lakers were on the verge of winning this game. The Nuggets were literally down with under a minute to go.

The Rockets game you are talking about, they spent the entire second half clinging on for dear life by draining nearly 60% of their 3's (and never getting within 5 points). SGA put them to the sword and it never felt like OKC could lose the game.

But both were games that should have been more comprehensive victories.

Yeah, Jabari Smith-Reed Sheppard-Jalen Green, who are all recent top 3 picks are the equivalent to the trash the Lakers ran out there tonight.

The Nuggets are a top 10 team defense in the clutch, and are 2nd in Net Rating in the clutch (behind only the Cavs) at +21.4...third place is the Grizzlies at +14.

That's while missing Aaron Gordon half the year. In the 4th quarter, Nuggets are +18.9 when those 5 share the court.

Assuming health, I think they'll be fine.

Green and Smith played half the game. Reaves is superior to any of them. Vanderbilt and Knecht are arguably just as impactful. Houston closed the gap to like 6-7 in the 4th playing guys nobody has ever heard of aside from Reed.
