Draymond Green is one of the 'toughest' players in a soft era.

He wouldn't and couldn't pull those antics in the 80's or 90's, He would have his head kicked in.

I cannot fathom any of Draymond's sh*t flying in the 80s/90s. Dudes used to want to kill Dennis Rodman, and I think Draymond is actually 100x worse.

Mase would have picked him up and flipped him around and pile drived his damn head into the floor

Dawkins would have taken him on a cosmic chocolate thunder express ride to oblivion

Mason, Oakley, McDaniels would have slapped Draymond senseless.

It's not that rare for a team to lose its best player and play a more enjoyable style of basketball. You need stars in the NBA but it also makes the game less fun to watch. And it's not simply because the team is "scrappier" or whatever euphemism people use.

I'll keep watching personally but if the quality of a game has an inverse relationship to the presence of its best players, then I think that's a major, major red flag. And it's not rare.

Guys like LeBron break that pattern, because he's not a guy who demanded being a top scorer. Or a Magic. Even Phil implemented the triangle to keep all the guys involved. That seems to be a thing of the past.

Not sure where to stick this so I put it here with JB out. There is something to this and I think it's a huge problem.

The dude is #8 in the entire league in assists (7.4), while running a freelance offense. It's what he is being asked to do. Not because he is limited as a PG. It's what Thibs wants from his PG. Dude drops 30-40 with 7-10 assists and people say he's a selfish player. Imagine if there was some structure to the offense and he was setting people up where they are most efficient/effective getting their shots. His assists would probably go up.

Every player has flaws. His happens to be his height. He makes the most of it though. Weak defender and struggles seeing over the defense as a result. He still can't be stopped most nights and still gets plenty of assists most nights. The best Knicks PG since Clyde hands down. One of the best PGs in the league. The slander will not be tolerated!!!

Right, we should be happy to have Brunson, who would be even better with a better coach.
