Yup we have talent, defenders, shooters, but not enough "refuse to lose guys". This is where we misss Ihart, Divo and even Randle most.

Also Precious seems to be regressing, and Hart is losing gas and confidence.

WOuldn't it be nice to see how Kolek would orchestrate with these guys? Why cant we see that Thibs?

I felt bad for Kat. He wanted this game and most of his teammates let him down with not only their play, but by hugging and playing around with Draymond after the game. This team isn't tight like we're led to believe. There's no way you disrespect my brother like that and then I'm chilling with the guy who disrespected him. Weak! :nonono:

Bad post.

Knicks players walking over to congratulate Draymond Green is pathetic. And you blame Thibs for that? If I was Dolan, I’d fine each and every player that did that.

Did Thibs run over and congratulate Draymond?

I'd blame Thibs to a degree. If I was coaching, I'd have a little amped up speech pregame to the squad about how that prick Draymond disrespected our brother and now we need to kick some ass!

i am willing to admit, even if i havent interacted with Randle, he strikes me as the guy that "hates to lose" as if it was written all over his face. Perhaps that emotion of his, rubs to the entire roster.

These guys look chill -- way too chill, No edge. Maybe why PJ was brought in.

People coming around on Randle. Only took over half a season.

Randle had all the energy this team needed badly. I tried to tell yall our team was entirely soft and diva minded outside of the few guys we got rid of this offseason.

Idk how nobody saw Brunsons diva side pop out after Randle dislocated his shoulder but the signs were there. That energy is needed to keep Brunson focused and in check otherwise there’s too much hero ball and complaining going around. Not to mention Randle had the respect of his peers and he wasn’t someone anyone was about to talk crazy to like they do with KAT.

We have some great players but we completely lost our identity and toughness that we had. Oh well. We just need a coach that can maximize this type of roster
NiceLikeChrist wrote:We are going to deeply regret this. We traded away the best player in the trade and still had to give up a great role player AND a pick?

so many people are going to eat their words about randle

PJ was borderline making out with Green after the game. Very few dogs left in today's game. The entire league is soft.

We had a 100 ORTG

Post all-star break we were 26th in the league offensively BEFORE Brunson went out. The offense has been in free fall for months now, from the new year to Brunson's injury we were 15th, that's 33 games.

We don't take enough threes, and we don't run enough PnRs. We play an antiquated brand of basketball that was all talent based, and once teams figured out you could guard Hart with a big we have never been able to adjust.

mpharris36 wrote:I thought the team played there ass off. Just late game execution because we don't have Brunson to save Thibs vanilla offense.

A couple last second heaves at the end of the 1st and 2nd qtr.

I'm not upset about this loss. Thought we competed defensively outside of that stretch where Steph hit back to back 3's on KAT dropping.

Hart was a complete disaster.

I love Hart but he has regressed at the wrong time of the season, hopefully it's just the road trip issue.

I agree the team has fought hard and never give up, but the execution down the stretch is the problem. Mcbride will learn from his mistake, but you can see how limited down the stretch when there is no Brunson to save the coach.

For the contingency plan I think we should make Bridges the facilitator, or even have a 1-4 iso with Towns either in the paint or at the side.

and he won't do anything to kick start the scoring.

Like why invest in a 24 year old plug and play backup guard that was suppose to be the best passer in the draft to not use him at all.

With Cam Payne struggling and Brunson hurt it would be a perfect time to see what Kolek can do in 10-12 minutes. A guy that can run P&R offense and get the team some decent looks.

Its not like Cam Payne is some lock down defender...he is an all or nothing prayer 3 pt shoter.

Didn't watch the game but I am feeling pretty disappointed if the team was friendly with Draymond after what he said about KAT. That is really messed up.

That's a bad look all around

Need more time to build the chemistry. If this was the Wolves last season, ain't none of the stars going to sit around and chuckle up with Draymond after what he said. One thing I loved about Ant from day one is he had KAT's and his other teammates backs, went a long way. Hopefully the Knicks will get there.

Is it weak for the knicks to have been buddy buddy with draymond yes, but athletes are just different these days, once I saw yankees and sox players even after a brawl, hugging each other I realized that professional athletes are in a fraternity and after all is said and done once they are done competing they are brothers. With that said, after tonight’s game, holding the w’s to 97 and seeing how much better this team is playing defense. They are being more physical and are reminding me of the teams from years past. Despite the loss I’m more encouraged with the defensive efforts especially with Mitch back. Will give them a better shot in the playoffs

The only player who violated was PJ Tucker. MarJon and Bridges did the typical “good game” daps and hug. PJ was laughing and chatting up everyone and it damn near looks like Butler said to him “what was you supposed to do” which makes sense the Knicks brought him here damn near out of retirement on a 10 day deal and haven’t played him yet.

Why is PJ Tucker on the Knicks? The whole team is made up of grown men. They have depth problems and gave up a spot someone could be playing on for an enforcer who isn’t getting game time to enforce anything.

Once again the only person Buddy/Buddy was PJ Tucker….

Jesus, KAT was treated so badly and his teammates acted like it's alright, just another day punching the clock.

This team is not unified and not all of that can be laid at Thibs feet. Yes, if they were coached more properly I think they'd be more bonded as a result of playing ball effectively as a team (which they don't do). But there are some personality mix issues going on here.

Seeing KAT walk off like that I do feel bad for him. It cannot feel good for him right now as a native son who grew up a Knicks fan. He was their best player tonight in spite of the BS he put up with and they disrespected him.

probably not because this is the 1st year with this team. So that will always be a built in excuse for him.

A 1st round exit would do it for sure, but 2nd round especially if they don't get completely blown out he doesn't get fired.

The players like him but I gottta believe with how analytical our FO is...that they have to see Thibs is holding the roster back.

I think we're going to underwhelm in the POs and he's gone. I don't see how it all suddenly clicks. There's not that feel that we're building as the season progresses. More falling apart. Leon's happy to give him his money. Thibs always has an expiration date and it just feels like the clock is running out.

I'm fine with him going but I hope we're more creative than going for the biggest college name we can get. I think Rick Brunson is a boogeyman.

We're not progressing. We're proceeding haphazardly with occasional spasms of winning play by one or two of our players on any given night that results in a win, but nothing is executed in a convincing manner. Earlier in the season, we still had some success with signs of offensive dominance when Thibs rode them hard to get those wins. But in true Thibs fashion, we're wearing down right at the time when most teams are gearing up for the playoffs. We have players like KAT, Brunson and Mikal who individually have put the team on their backs, but even those events are going to be harder to manufacture going forwards.

It would be a miracle to get past the 2nd round at this point. We might not win any series at all the way we're playing. Either result should get Thibs shown the door. This team is underachieving and the goodwill the FO generated for itself will start to fade if they don't replace him.
