Last time I recall getting invested in a St. John's team, Marcus Hatten was carrying them in a NIT run. Outside of that, it's squads with players like Ron Artest and Lavor Postell that come to mind.

It's nice to see the Johnnies finally looking good again.

This run happened a year to early. SJU might have been able to secure Kiyan. The Good news a lot talent will stay home now like it used to be with SJU.

Yeah seeing the job Pitino has done with them this year is incredible, a pure joy to watch. It's hard not to be invested in this team, especially after the drought that's been happening. Should've made the tournament last year, a top ranked team this year, the immediate future with Pitino is bright for sure.

I haven’t been this invested in St John’s since the Ron Artest and Bootsy Thornton days

Congrats to Pitino and St. John’s. I wish Syracuse and Pittsburgh were still in the Big East, though.

NIL Money coming in. I was hoping SJU had some ballers Alumni to step up and we got a billionaire.

Wasn't the last time Rutgers was good was in Magic/Bird's Final Four year?

Mike Repole. He is the billionaire who said he will do whatever it takes when it comes to NIL for SJU.

That’s before my time, I do remember them being solid growing up.

A quick wiki search shows they were good in the 80s and had some success in the 90s. Last tourney appearance was 2022. Based on wiki they were dominate in the 70s tho.

I just know they are classic Big East and don’t belong in the Big 10.

Yeah, he founded VitaminWater. He’s from Queens. He’s the one who did that deal with 50 back in the day that ended up being a huge return on investment after he sold the Company to Coca-Cola.

He gave Kadary Richmond $1 million to enter the transfer portal and leave Seton Hall for St. John’s.
