For Rob this was my only issue with the Mark Williams trade. Really? You couldn't have waited for this kind of game to shop Dalton? 3-4 of these games might have brought back a Kessler type. Give him shots then sell high. Snowbros almost turned the very underrated Nuggets to tenders.

Even just having 1 serviceable big sure goes a long way defensively. And he has improved so much with his finishing too as the season has goes on. Good to have Hayes back.

If they can split Denver/Milwaukee they should be fine moving forward

Re: The LeBron James and Luka Doncic - 24-25 Thread
Was good to see them log a W [without LeBron] after the recent skid.
Doncic and Reaves were excellent, and Doncic seems like he's starting to find some rhythm working with Hayes as a roll-man (Hayes coming up with 19 pts on 72.6% TS, despite laying bricks at the FT-line).
But the defense looked pretty sharp in this one: Booker/Durant combined for 40 pts and 13 ast, which doesn't sound too bad until you realize it was at 48.2% TS% [combined] with 8 turnovers. That's death for the Suns, 'cause they got no one else.

Re: The LeBron James and Luka Doncic - 24-25 Thread
Reaves has looked nice since the calf-issue has presumably been behind him.
Luka as a 1-O is really hard to evaluate this season. LAs inconsistency in calling set offense and his lesser shot-making right now makes him a lesser option than say a Shai/Giannis. However, there’s so much latent value in his playmaking and defensive attention (still think JJ should have better counters for blitzes, some spacing alignments with multiple - offensive players on the bench are questionable) to the point where he has high impact - as he did in Dallas pre calf injury. However, I think Reaves is one of the 3/4 best 3-Os in the game and Bron likely the best 2-O at this point. Should be a very fun and effective trio once they iron things out, health and shotmaking permitted

Good post.
However, I don't think I'd even consider taking Giannis > Luka offensively right now. Luka is easily clear because of his playmaking. In fact, Luka is clearly #3 on O behind Jokic and Shai and honestly not even far behind those guys.

Ah yeah, mistyped and meant to say Jokic instead of Giannis* I agree with your point, and probably would say third behind those two considerably. Probably would take him as an offensive anchor over Brunson, Curry, Zion, Lebron, Giannis at this point - just because the playmaking has that much latent value.

Luka looking noticeably slimmer tonight compared to even a mere 2 weeks ago. Moving way better.
Now that I watch every game of his as opposed to the occasional big game when he was Mav, I did not know he was this good. Before I found him a worse version of prime Harden, which is still very good, but also a player with some very glaring flaws. Now I'm just in awe of how good of a shot creator (for himself and others) he is. His change of direction with a live dribble is second to none for someone his size. Overall I'd say he's the best combination of scoring and passing I've seen at the guard spot. LeBron's last season as a championship level #1 was 2018 (beside the brief 2020 bubble playoff run), so a true #1 like Luka was sorely needed.

Lmao Bronny had Gianni’s on skates. Dude is definitely going to be a rotational player in the NBA in a couple years. Contrary to the insufferable haters, he’s always been an NBA prospect. He just needed time to recover from nearly dying from cardiac arrest.

Luka Doncic trade probably extends LeBron James' career by another year. They have the confidence to upset any team with the win streak. Aura has shifted and it is a league redefining trade for the rest of the 2020s.
The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player
