6 of our last 15 games are against teams who are also tanking.

Think we get the 9th seed and lose in the play in after winning the first game.

See us picking 11th again.

Trailblazers win so we are currently in sole possession of 8th lotto spot.

Portland is 3.5 games outside of the 10th spot in the west with 14 games to go.

Imagine they somehow sneak into the play-in and end up in the playoffs...we get that pick :)

The teams in front of them are the Suns and Mavericks, both teams are currently very meh, it's definitely possible.

The Bulls could very well win 7 to 9 of their last 15 games.

Unfortunately I’m sensing a great chance we slide down to 13th pick, while Mavs and Spurs lose out most their games. Heat and Blazers are also a player-decision away from losing out. Meanwhile I see us going for it.

Turn the 26% top-4 odds (6% Flagg) into a nearly impossible 4.8% pipe-dream (1% Flagg).

Bulls are not tanking.

It’s a dumb strategy that doesn’t work.

Make the play in and continue to build up!!!!

Confidence and Winning cures all

I’m tired of always getting younger.

I'd give the Bulls about a 1/3 shot to make the playoffs right now which means our lotto odds would be all gone. If current trends hold, we'll climb to 9 before the end of the season. 8-11 seeds are separated by 1 game, and we've got the most momentum, a team that is trying, and a weak schedule.

Where has that strategy lead the last few years? No playoffs two year in a row and this season will make three if they don't make it.

Then do it all over again?

AK has been here 5 seasons and made the playoffs one time, an easy first round loss to the Bucks.

I dunno, the 07/08 team begs to differ, unless you’re telling me we have a decent chance of winning another 1.7% pick this century.

How would you like them to do things differently?

No they aren't. But they should be.

The team as constructed is an 8th seed first round loss at best.

Tanking isn't a dumb strategy, it's worked well so far for teams like the Rockets, Pistons and the Thunder (very well for them). Trying to make the play-in year after year with a badly constructed middling team is a bad strategy.

It's not about getting younger, it's about trying to get top end talent rather than mid-level talent, it's about actually building a foundation.

Bulls tied with Heat and sit in 10th in the lottery, this might go back and forth until the season ends.

Portland has 30 wins, so theres a chance the Bulls pass them too.

With the 11th pick in the NBA draft the Bulls select...

There seem to be a lot of players opting for surgery, injections and just plain sniffles to sit out the remainder of the season. All these bad, flailing teams can't lose all their games. I think playing everybody, evaluating who among the UFA, RFA and expiring contracts they want to keep or move on from and aiming for the best play in spot is the way to go. Yeah I'm sure many will be lusting after those few % points of getting a top 4 pick, and some still cling to the tank theory but other teams are more willing to cash it in but is there really going to be a noticeable difference in #7 and #11? Unlike most other lottery candidates the Bulls still need to look at who to keep and who needs to go in favor of their pick and maybe some talented guy that get released.

Which would mean us getting our pick back was far and away the most valuable asset in the Zach trade.

Thunder rebuild did as well as it did because they had a valuable player who wanted to go to on specific team and that team just happened to have an unrealized SGA available. If George asks for a trade a year later LA might not be willing to include SGA.
