Is there such thing as a shattered hamstring? Beal had COVID hamstrings, so maybe.

He needs to work on his 3 point efficiency, tighten up his handle some more, work on some go to moves in iso situations, and work in the gym and on the track on his stamina, since he's being asked to be a #1 or #2 facilitator while defending the other teams best player, which of course requires alot of energy..... Which is why some nights he looked great and others not so much.... He has to hone his craft to be more consistent, but he's made huge strides for a player never tasked with the role he's currently playing here....

There are real questions about BC's future. As we continue to bring in young players can Bilal improve enough to keep his starting spot. Overall this year was better than last year. Last year he was more 3 and D. This year he did more creating off ball. At the same time, his 3-point shooting percentage dropped. To his credit he did attempt more 3's. I do hope we can stick with him past for 5 or 6 years. Forwards take time to develop. Avdija and Hachimura are both starters. But you're looking at a 6 or 7 years into their career.

Read on Twitter
Tsze-Kung asked, "Is there one word which may serve as a rule of practice for all one's life?"

The Master said, "Is not Reciprocity such a word? What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others."

Bilal will be our lockdown specialist , which allows us to continue the search for a star wing player with an offensive bag.

Bilal also peaking at all-NBA? Sign me up.

Weird. It wasn't that long ago that WizKev was extremely concerned that Bilal would never amount to much because he didn't post a 15% usage in his rookie season.

Last night I read Eeyore Old Data Analyzer’s take on Keyshawn George. Jesus.

And here I thought he had a chance to be good because of his surprisingly stout defense and sweet stroke. What do I know?

And late growth spurt. Which makes him effectively a year or so younger in my book.

I think Bilal could be poised to have a breakout year next year. Last year he showed flashes but I think we might get some more consistency out of him. And next year he's only going to be 21.
I mentioned it in the Tre Johnson thread but it's worth repeating. The attractiveness of the Wizards to young players like Bilal, Alex. or Ace is that from a philosophical standpoint we aren't going to pigeonhole your growth. On our team everyone gets a chance to be on ball. Everyone gets a chance to initiate. The flipside of that is everyone needs to be able to shoot and spread the floor. Compare Bilal to the Thompson twins.

Granted they are in very different situations. Both the Rockets and Pistons are playoff teams. This year Amen Thompson shot 1.3 3's a game and Ausar shot .8 3's a game. Meanwhile Bilal shot 3.8 3's a game. I don't like that Bilal's 3-point percentage dropped from his rookie season but given the increase in volume I can understand. What I do like is that he's confident in shooting it and he's learning. It's tough to say in the long run if Bilal will be better off having these in game opportunities vs. being in a situation like the Thompson twins but that I think is the allure. I don't think Dawkins promises anyone anything. But if you work hard you'll have an opportunity to shine.

When the Gilbert Arenas Wizards were good it felt like we lucked into it. When the Wall-Beal Wizards were good, it felt like the team was flashy but lacking substance. We'd be competitive against good teams but lose to teams we should beat. Does anyone remember the Wall-Lonzo game? It felt like we were rushing trying to create a competitive team as soon as possible. But this team feels different. We are taking our time. Building a team. Building a roster. Letting our young players grow and develop. But now because we have depth we are going to foster an environment of competition.

Bilal was better from year 1 to year 2. And if he takes a similar jump along with the players around him he could end up being one of our best players next season.

Thrilled to see him busting his ass, I hope the rest of the youth are doing the same, Bilal still looks pretty lean though, not an once of fat on this kid.

I think I'm going to adopt the exact same phrases when I talk trash on the basketball court. Should be very effective. :D
