Just leave the Bulls alone. In what crazy world do they want a more expensive SG in Bogdan when they have Coby White finally settling in as the SG and they give up the veteran leadership, defense and 3 point shooting for an actual PG in Lonzo Ball with the friendliest of contracts that they've spent 3 seasons waiting on? Even if you want to imagine some mid FRP the duplication that Bogdan at $16M off the bench gives them is not worth it.

I asked him several times, but he doesn't answer me... are the Bulls rebuilding? If the answer is yes, then you should be looking to trade your veterans for assets and even getting worse on the court would be an advantage to pick as high as possible... if the answer is that they are trying to win, what is the reason to trade their best player (Lavine)?

My take on the team. They should 1000% burn it down to the ground. Carter, Keon, Keegan, Laravia are the only players i'd look to keep.

That said, Vivek has never, ever, committed to a true rebuild, and he won't start next year. But I think Sabonis is very likely to ask out this off-season, I think he's ready for a change. But I'll operate under idea we convince him to stay.

Trade with OKC and Dallas
Kings out: Derozan, Monk
Kings in: Wiggins, Naji, Joe, Dieng

OKC out: Dieng, Joe, Wiggins
OKC in: Monk, Klay
OKC makes the move to swap some defense for offense. Klay would bring championship experience, and Monk brings an excellent 6th man playmaker.

Dallas out: Naji, Klay
Dallas in: DeRozan
Discussed before. Dallas gets Derozan to help keep the team afloat while they wait for Klay. Naji replaceable by Martin, PJ.

3. Resign LaRavia on a wink wink deal that he gets a raise next year

4. Extend Keon ASAP. 4/70 million

Sabonis/JV
Naji/LaRavia
Keegan/Wiggins
LaVine/Joe
Keon/Carter

Kings still don't really address the point guard spot, but they move to a team full of guys who can handle. Keon is the defacto pg, but the offensive hub is still Sabonis, and Naji has shown some playmaking chops since Dallas has been decimated. LaVine is your volume scorer, Sabonis is your hub, and you surround them with a ton of guys who can play defense, shoot 3s, or do both.

Agreed. I would think Sengun and another asset would be sufficient (if there is a value gap considering Sengun is cheaper).

The Scenario:
* Ownership: You have a mandate to try and win and make the POs in 2025/26 and beyond.
* The Kings finish the season going 4-12 to finish 37-45 and fall to 11th in the West. This keeps the 2025 1st round pick and the Kings will select 12th.
* Sabonis has already mentioned he wants to have a dialogue with the franchise on what direction the Kings are going. It was apparent that both he and Fox, along with Mike Brown met with the front office and wanted more defensive players on the team.
* No cap space. Can use MLE.

General Manager: Monte McNair or New GM. Who?
Head Coach: Doug Christie or New Coach. Who?

Roster:
Sabonis/JV
-
Murray/DDR
Lavine/Monk/Ellis (team option)/Carter
-

UFA: LaRavia, Lyles, McDermott, Crowder, Fultz

It's a bit disingenuous to still keep the 2025 pick when Kings are basically landlocked into slots 13-15 with a month to go. Yall can't finesse out of the pick like ya did in 2024.

Pay the piper and be done with that trade. Back to the topic, yall just traded your franchise for a rebuilding package. Can't stop there, keep going with more future assets.

If they don't burn it down. Try to land PJ Washington by trading DDR and some stuff. I think he would be a nice fit there.

Use the MLE for a 3 and D forward and pray for some internal growth from Carter and Murray especially if he wants to get paid(and maybe Ellis).

After the W against the Grizz I would say yes. The Kings still have a brutal schedule coming up, but unless Phoenix start going on a tear, yes the Kings will pay the piper as you put it.

Just a question. In what world was the trade deadline a "rebuilding package" for the Kings?

Yes. There would absolutely be something around Jabari for Monk. He fills a desperate need for the Kings along with a true PG so me personally would look to see what that is.

Curious what Jabari is expecting for his next contract. On paper I'd love to add him to the team. Keon-Keegan-Parker would be 3 defenders at the most crucial spots, but if he's expecting the max or anywhere really near it, I'd not want to be the team giving it to him.

I agree. I think Keegan and Jabari are so close it's not funny. Really. They are, at least statistically.
That's why I have always been intrigued by having these two together. I feel they have mirrored each other in ways.
Keegan started shooting shooting well and needed work on D.
Jabari started D well and needed work on his shooting.

Think both have come to the middle point where they have either been forgotten or left behind, depends on who you talk to as to which I guess. But I still believe, for the Kings at least, a ??/Keon/Keegan/Jabari/Sabonis team on the court would be absolutely brilliant. Now a lot depends on that ? and how you fill out the bench, but get Lavine/DDR off the team plus draft picks for whatever you can get PG wise, defensively, and with Monk, LaRavia and some signings off the bench it could be good.

You would need to add picks or a young player to Sabonis to get Houston to trade Sengun.
