You're both omitting Jrue which was the trade that really put Boston over the top. If they just acquired KP but then stuck with Brogdon instead of Jrue I don't think they win last year

Agreed 100%. Jrue was also a key piece. Mad how they picked up so many crucial pieces without anyone really trying to stop them.

Imagine if Knicks had gotten Jrue from Portland instead of Boston. Brogdon, Time Lord and two firsts. Surely the Knicks could have matched that at the time? Not sure how it would have impacted later moves for OG and Kat. And Jrue is old, but what a great backcourt partner for JB.

KAT wanted to get the win so he could talk his ish. He's pissed they lost.

His teammates let him down, not by what happened AFTER the game...but by going 2-19 FG and playing like they weren't serious about winning.

… and THEN kissing Draymond’s ass!

The team has to have your back after all this.

Agreed, bad look. Such a 180 degress turn in terms of vibes and all from last season.

I'm not saying someone needed to punch Draymond but I concur with Iron Mantis' post before mines. The best way to support Karl would have been to actually compete with the same intensity that he had.

It's all competition at the end of the day and KAT/Draymond got into it like we knew they would. These guys are pros and all have different relationships with each other so I'm not upset that guys were dapping each other up at the end, it's the fact that guys didn't show up during the game that pisses me off the most.

Like for 48 minutes lock in and make dude eat his words about your teammate. But instead we saw more fire being thrown between Tom and Josh at each other than on the court. At this point if you aren't playing for each other, what are you playing for????

I feel like if Brunson was out there he would have lit Golden State up off of general principle.

I think the other Knicks were trying, they competed hard. It's the missing shots that lost the game not lack of effort.

MrDollarBills wrote:Green is most likely friends off the court with guys on the team, which is fine and they didn't need to start jawing with him or clobber him on KAT's behalf. KAT more than held his own, and no one was asking for that, but damn get fiesty and aggressive on both ends and meet the moment of competition.

Play hard, leave it on the floor and then exchange pleasantries. I didn't see the first part from guys outside of KAT.

Yep, I am not saying they have to hate Green's guts and cancel him from their lives. They need to have their teammates back, not just post game, they need to play with fire and battle, this was a game that demanded more intensity and a lot of guys didn't bring it.

Look at how the Timberwolves reacted to Golden State last season, they tried to kill them guys after all the Draymond disrespect to Rudy and KAT. They also would do the same thing against Butler and the Heat for stuff Jimmy said YEARS ago. They don't forget and the other teams knows it.

Looks how both teams turned it up last season after the huge altercation. The Warriros were ballin in this game but the Timberwolves team battled and didn't let that slide. KAT and Ant in particular really stepped up the energy out of respect to Rudy. You have to show you have your teammates back, even the Warriros showed Draymond they had him by how they competed and he was the guy in the wrong.

Hopefully the Knicks are starting to get the picture, they are a new squad so they don't have the history the Timberwolves did and that is almost certainly part of the reason the response wasn't the same. This game needs to be a lesson though, you have to be there for your boys.

Do you guys think they're alienating KAT in the locker room, or KAT is alienating himself?

Wouldn't they have had a conversation about Draymond prior to the game?

It's just odd all around. I would just be shocked with the lack of communication among teammates when they have every tool of communication at their disposal.

I don't think that's happening. Its not like Towns is going to stand up in the locker room and be like "Hey, nobody be cool with Draymond!" That's not how it works, being aware of the situation is all his teammates should need to have his back. Maybe some other locker room leader can make a proclimation but a lot of this should be implicit with being a team. You just have your guys back when they have been disrespected, period.

This REALLY pissed me off. Like badly!! :nonono:

I'm old school. The way Draymond dissed KAT and our team, we needed to show some team unity and ignore his ass. Instead, everybody from Mikal to Thibs went out there and showered him with a love fest.

It's this new generation of players. They're completely clueless and unaware. Also, they have this "buddy-buddy" mentality with opposing players instead of a "step on the enemy's neck" approach. :noway:

I just have a feeling that if Brunson was there, none of that sh*t happens.

It's not like a hockey situation when guys all drop gloves and start throwing hands unquestionably. But it sucked that the only guy who looked pissed off after we lost was KAT
