Nate Duncan is absolutely correct. There's been multiple instances where Jimmy is passing on open layups.

Since I had to find it for another thread, I'm putting it here too since it explains how and why Butler isn't scoring much in Golden State.

In Draymond Green's podcast late last year, Jeff Teague talks about how Jimmy Butler having multiple mindsets in Minnesota, a do the little things and average around 18 points (what he's doing now for GS) and then the take charge becoming a scorer because he didn't feel Towns and Wiggins had it in them to win games as the top scorers. It's probably the reason he wanted to go to Phoenix outside of the extension so he could let KD and Booker score while he did they little things to help the team win.

That mentality is really Iguodala. He was "the man" in Philly and then to a lesser extent in Denver and by the time he got to GS he just wanted to win. But we definitely will need him to score in the playoffs and I'm sure he will. He's probably just saving himself.

I'm okay with this. I've seen enough proof that Butler can score when it is needed. He must be glad that Curry has ramped up his scoring, while at the same time Warriors' fans are giving Butler a lot of credit for turning this season around by doing his little things. Butler does not appear to be intimidated by Curry in the slightest, and that's exactly what this team needed.

Here's a podcast/interview of close a friend of Butler's (D.Wade) explaining how Butler wants to play most of the time.
