Raptors will stage a fake comeback to show the league that they're not tanking and then lose the game.

What is it with teams playing like azz whenever they face an opponent whose superstars are sidelined?

There's no scouting report or game film on how to defend a rag tag group of players who are all fresher and playing for their next contract/playing time. If they played the same team the next night on a B2B they'd blow them out.

If that is the case why don't teams sit their main guys in the playoffs to throw their opponent off?

timberwolves challenge team should be fired. late game up 2 Divo threw it out of bounds off a pacer. there was plenty of time to challenge and replays showed it was clear. pacers ended up scoring and it went to OT.

Playoff teams are more intense, focused/rested between games/series, and sometimes you will see some random bench player have a big game in the playoffs.

Obi with 34, Grimes with 46.

Two guys Tom absolutely loathed and wanted gone, we got back jack **** for both of them.

Obi is averaging 9 points a game this year. And he lost his starting spot like a month in as a Pacer. Thibs was right about him

Hurting his anti-thibs cause by using obi

Notice Grimes expression at the end of that video. That steel attitude is a new look on his face. He feels unstoppable

As far as people saying he's a greenlit scorer on a tanking team, he still has to score AGAINST other NBA competition and Grimes is doing it nightly so I really don't know what you naysayers are really saying any longer. He's not playing in a vacuum. These are still NBA games

While that is certainly true, there is a big caveat IMO. It is an entirely different thing to have that confidence and put up those shots and numbers while sharing the court with 3 all-stars. If you are on the court playing "by yourself" or at least have the confidence that skill wise you are the best or 2nd best scorer on your team everything flows easier, you just let if fly with no second guessing...when you share it with top players sometimes you question yourself more and that confidence declines rapidly. We'll have to wait and see how it pans out. Maybe he was able to unlock something within himself. Good for him.

I personally wish him well. Sometimes it goes like this, players take steps later on. Obviously Thibs not relying on bench players much does not help develop anybody, but I do remember Grimes getting more opportunities than many bench players here....at some point he was reluctant to shoot open 3 pointer etc. He did start many games here and averaged like 20-30 minutes on many nights.

What must be great is being on a 4mill. expiring contract and having to worry about getting a new contract---then 3 all-stars go down and you string together 10 good games and all of a sudden it looks like you can get 30+ million or more on your new contract. Like literally these games may have made an "existential" difference contract wise. Good for him.

what deuce did is much harder. He had to play well in the gleague. When called up to the main roster, his minutes and position werent even guaranteed; alot of times his playing time awful and he has to make good with whatever few minutes he has been given. Nothing came easy for him.

Not surprised by Denver beating Warriors. They are too big and too strong for them. 9 wins in a row against Warriors and 15 out of the last 16. They better dodge them on this "deep playoff run" they are about to make is gonna end way faster than their annoying fans anticipations.

Westbrook and Gordon are not some scrubs. Its not like last year when they beat Clippers away with Reggie Jackson and DeAndre Jordan

Devin Booker is KD 2.0. And he is getting lessons from the master himself for free  The topics of the course? - how to be great scorer, got 0 aura, 0 leadership and never win a meaningful plate as the bus driver. I bet KD is whispering to him about joining Celtics, Nuggets or OKC.
