I continue to believe their FRP next year is now at risk. It will be interesting to see how they manage that risk.

PS - Even Poole is still getting better. Fewer WTFs.

I don't really care much if we "fall" to 2nd-worst or 3rd-worst because they have the same odds for a top 4 pick. What concerns me is if we fall to 4th-worst (catching the Pelicans) because then our lottery odds get materially affected.

And yes, I'm aware that draft position between worst and second-worst matters in that it could mean a fall from 5th to 6th under certain remote scenarios. I'm just saying that drop doesn't matter all THAT much. The bottom line is that, historically speaking, draft position doesn't matter all that much once you fall out of the top 3. The success odds from pick 4 to about pick 13 are really flat with virtually no difference between them; then there's another drop-off in the early teens; and then they get pretty flat for the rest of the first round.

At this point I'm anticipating we're losing our '26 pick. Worst case we at least picked up a later pick from Philadelphia.

If we get Flagg or Harper, plus adding Bey, and full seasons from Middleton and Smart, Holmes, with the continued improvement of the young core Sarr, Bilal, Bub, George, Champagnie, Tristan, all with another year under their belt, I expect that pick will be gone.
