Organization just should have found a better piece than Kyle **** Kuzma and the more and more games Golden State wins because of Jimmy's impact, the more it becomes obvious we should have just picked a direction instead of splitting the difference. Could have just grabbed a 2-3 years younger DeAndre Hunter for the same price.

I think Bobby's suspension screwed us at the deadline. Whether the NBA did that on purpose or not :o :noway:

Also that Denver trade just suggested is pretty terrible for us, no way I'd do that.

I thought Bobby's suspension ended the "We should've traded for Jimmy" takes, but I guess they're back.

I never even thought about that....

If Bobby's idiotic screwup prevented us from getting Butler ill never forgive him... Plain as day that Butler is still very much a needle moving winning player while Kuzma is simply a nice piece if used appropriately.

I'm not sure Giannis is more injury prone playng center. Lots more pounding on his body down low, but I'm always worried about him out on the court with ankles, and knees.

This is one of those narratives that gets repeated enough that it becomes a thing, when it is utter nonsense:

1) Miami got Wiggins and Kyle Anderson. Wiggins salary is 26 million plus Kyle Anderson's salary is 9 million. Portis's salary is 12.5 million. Miami was not going to take Khris Middleton's ongoing salary. So where do you get the extra 23 million in salary?

2) Even if you come up with the salary, Miami got a good player in Wiggins, who has two more years on his contract (one of them a player option), while Portis will be a free agent.

3) And perhaps the biggest reason this is nonsense is that the Warriors took on Butler's 48 million dollar contract this year and signed him for two more years at 62 million each year. Do you think the Bucks were going to do that? The Bucks were doing everything they could to get below the second apron.

Blaming Bobby Portis for not getting Butler makes as much sense as blaming him for the Ukraine war.

Sucks that we just missed Mo Bamba. He'd be a good fill in guy. Who else is even available at center right now?

While this is 100% accurate he rebounds and blocks shots and has a passable jumper. Not as good moving laterally but certainly would fill a role at the moment.

Disagree. Miami didn't want to take back big salary beyond next season. The Wiggins 26-27 player option is no prize for them.

Miami's goal for the trade was to get players back to help make the playoffs this season so their lottery protected pick would convey to OKC this summer instead of OKC getting an unprotected pick next summer. Khris/Bobby/Pat would've given the Heat a better shot at making the playoffs this season than Wiggins and Anderson do. But again, Bobby's suspension killed that.

(Disclaimer: I personally was never interested in the Bucks making a deal for Jimmy)

You answered one part of what I said, but not the others.

I don't believe for a minute that the Heat wanted KM's contract this year or next. if the Bucks didn't want it, why would the Heat, unless they felt he was going to be healthy this year (which he isn't).

And my guess is that the Heat would rather have Wiggins next year, on a fairly decent contract, than get nothing in return with Portis opting out and KM being dead salary.

And of course, the Bucks were never going to pay Butler what he wanted, let alone stay above the second apron.

The Bucks wouldn't have been able to trade for him unless they got under the 2nd apron, so staying above it was never part of that scenario.

1. If Miami would not take Khris then sure its dead. But we dont know that.

2. Wiggins isnt really that good and he gets paid too much for what he is. If we were willing to offer AJ Johnson, why wouldnt Miami rather have Khris/Bobby/AJ?

3. Pay Jimmy whatever.

I think the trade would've been similar to the trade the Bucks made except they would send Kuzma(Wiggins replacement) and Portis to Miami. Kuzma is a better financial fit for Miami and Portis is a fit for their team playing with Bam and Ware.

The only issue would've been using the '31 first to get a few late 1sts and to use 1 of them to get Pat C off the books, like Phx did with Nurkic.

Just give Livingston the Sims minutes. He's not good but neither is Sims, he can move his feet, and nobody's going to push him around. Maybe he'll surprise us. If you don't think he can handle 15 minutes for 10 games in the armpit of the season, cut him and get someone who can.

Sims may not be that good but he brought things we desperately needed. It's a bigger loss than it appears

This is the kind of Dame trade the team should at least consider if available. He's still great but he'll be 35 next season. Although it would be hilarious to see all the "he sucks at defense" people mental gymnastics their way into arguing that the defense wouldn't be an even worse problem with those two in the starting-5. Would be interesting to see how a real coach and GM would construct the roster around Murray/MPJ/Giannis.

Absolutely no interest in this trade. Why trade Dame for another player who's like Dame? This doesn't address a single need.

The Bucks are good when KPJ plays PG, so any Dame deal should be for a SG or SF. The Bucks have a monsterous hole at SF.

Already penciling in Kevin Porter Jr. as a core player and not getting an actual starting caliber guard back in a potential Dame trade seems like a pretty tough sell IMO.
