In other words, (and I am both paraphrasing and reading between the lines,) Chris Finch is one of if not the worst play callers in the NBA in the last 28 years when in clutch time and trailing by one basket. He should be fired immediately and replaced by someone whose inclination is not to have Ant chuck heavily contested and often off balance shots.

Do you really believe that Finch told Ant to bobble the ball and then dribble into traffic before chucking an off-balance contested prayer at the buzzer?!

But since we see it all the time from Ant, its safe to say Finch didn't tell Ant not to do that...

Ant needs to learn when to get off the ball. He wants to be the hero and there are positives to that but oftentimes, the best play is giving it up. KG was known for this and got heavily criticized for it. Even KAT is better at making the pass in that scenario than Ant is though.

The loss to the Pacers was the Wolves’ twenty-first game that was decided by three or fewer points. Their 10-11 record in these games leads the league in both wins and losses. No other team in the league has played more than fifteen games within three points or won or lost more than eight games.

This large number of close games (30% of their total games played) isn’t because the Wolves are playing the best teams tough, it’s directly tied to their inability to put bad teams away (or injured teams (or bad, injured teams)).

The main reason that they can’t close out bad teams is because of Ant’s insistence on taking step back threes when a three isn’t needed. Last night he made 8 of 13 twos and shot 20 free throws. It was obvious to everyone watching that he could get to the rim at will, yet he continued to chuck threes in crunch time.

The biggest need for the Wolves the rest of the way is much improved offensive flow down the stretch. They won’t play more than five playoff games without it.
