Only needed 16 minutes to fulfill my pre-season nickname of Baylor Swift. Still a bigger fan of the Uncle Rico and especially the Rico Dorchester nicknames too though.

How many total real minutes did Oshae play in the playoffs last year -- like 8 to 12?
(random energy injection in maybe the 3rd Q of one game against IND?)
Those minutes are available if Baylor can keep impressing.

You can look at minutes by quarter on nba.com

For 2024 playoffs, Oshae played 5 total 1st qtr mins, 5 2nd qtr mins, 11 3rd qtr mins
4th quarter was 35 total minutes (blowout duty)

Did the Celtics strike gold drafting Baylor Scheierman? Well, it's still too early to tell, but we are definitely seeing some flashes in the pan. I was encouraged by his recent play before his "breakout" game vs the Nets, and feel more encouraged now. As Coach Mazzulla noted, it wasn't just Baylor's 3-point shooting that stood out. He had two tough offensive rebounds, two steals, and a deflection. He was hustling. His defense was decent, and that is bound to improve. No doubt his confidence is up, and that can only have a positive impact on his game. Although it is unlikely he will see minutes once the play offs start, I'm feeling optimistic about what he might bring next year.

Tatum is 7th in total minutes played, White is 22nd, Brown is 44th and Pritchard is 55th. Those are the only Celtics in the top 100 in minutes played. Tatum and Brown's MPG are pretty much in line with what they were under Stevens and Udoka, except now the team is much better so they get more rest days during the season and their overall workload is lower. There are plenty of coaches that lean more heavily on their stars. Michael Malone for instance has 4 guys in the top 20 in minutes played but somehow dodges that criticism.

Yeah, there's no comparison between Thibodeau and Mazzulla. In minutes per game it's Tatum 7th, Brown 19th, White 40th, Holiday 88th, then Porzingis 114th. The Knicks have players at 1st, 2nd, 6th, 18th, and 24th.

Yeah and it didn’t account for how your team got a jolt from your energy though. I believe just what Joe says, a minute or 2 can be important. I thought Queta’s first couple minutes gave us a boost last night, even though it went left for him after it. The half court 3s by pritch in those Mavs games were killer to the Mavs and a boost for us. A player can play a few minutes in one game and turn the momentum of a series. I thought Brissy did just that in the tough Pacers series (sweep or not)!

Apparently Scheierman is a variant spelling of Scheuerman/Scheuermann, which at its root means "barn man" (or "man from the barn", if the barn became a place name).

Barn Boy?

Barnburner?

Closing the barn door after Baylor gets loose?
