We really desperately need to suck next year.

To suck badly enough for this to be useful, I think you're going to need to see Coby traded and perhaps some of the guys received from the Zach trade. I don't think simply using the pick and running it back with the existing crew is going to get you there.

I agree. I don’t think the org will do that. But I agree.

Though I also don’t think we’ll be winning at the clip we are now. This is really due to other teams tanking super hard, not because we are legitimately “winning” these games.

I don't know. The game we lost was to a really good Houston team on the road and it was still pretty close. This squad is at least competitive. I agree that we'll need to get rid of Coby (and maybe Giddey) if we want to tank though.

Right. I don't think the current squad is as good as the last handful of games. But I do fear that over a full season they're still in that play-in in the East zone of things.

Well on the upside, we've been playing well without Ball and Ayo and (occasionally) with Vuc and Pat. Projecting forward to next season (optimistically) we keep Giddey, dump Vuc, and realistically replace Tre with Ayo, plus we're looking at development from Matas and Phillips, plus plus we have a rotation-worthy rookie.

That says a lot about Giddey if he is difference between sucking a mediocrity. I guess you’d rather not resign a very promising 23 year and just suck instead?

If he's getting offered more than 25million AAV than yes that is exactly what I want to do. Giddey is the best player on the team but along with Coby and some of these cast offs that are playing well, there is no way the Bulls are going to be top five worst bad. But hey there are large contingent of people here that apparently love mediocrity. More power to them, that's not what I want as a fan.

Glad your side isn’t in charge. I don’t like mediocrity either, but I’m not letting good young talent walk for a crapshoot lottery.

Nah those teams are legitimately and one off-season won’t change that. Bulls actually will be better next season unless the roster is purged which is not happening.

Sounds good, right back at you. You may not like mediocrity but that's damn sure what you are getting on this path with AKME. Enjoy the play-in again next year.

I am resigned the idea that I will never see another Bulls contender barring a Rose type lottery fluke. I got to see six rings though so it is what it is.

Right there with you and totally agree. I truly think they are the new Cubs. How things ended with those 6 championships ruined all the team's karma for the next 100 years.

Go Bulls! lol.

Nah. Resigned Giddey and then trade Coby Vuc and eventually Jones Huerter Collins or Smith.

Giddey helps and elevates but if there is nothing to elevate but Pat and Dalen. You lose a lot with young players and rookies. Play them with Guddey.

I don't know if "Guddey" was a typo or a pun. I'm kinda happy if it was intentional. Maybe "Goodey".

This team already sucks and giddey has played the majority of the games . Look at the record . Sure we will beat up on the bottom feeders . But we will continue to lose the majority of the games to the good teams and up and coming teams . I would not be suprised if we have a similar record at this time next year

We're not even half a calendar year through this rebuild which just kick started . Any sane fan shouldn't expect success anytime soon .

I don't love it, but I'm sure Billy is trying to teach the rook with a short leash this season. If it works, I guess I'm fine with it. Matas has already gotten the minutes this season to gain the requisit experience as a rookie. I would love him to get some playoff experience and stay healthy into the offseason to call the season a big win in terms of his development.

It be great overall for the team to win the play in and get some playoff games under their belt . Even in a loss the confidence it could build would be great for next season .

Money Matas with a wonderful bounce back game tonight after scoring like 5pts in two straight games.

Return to Chicago Bulls
