Iv you can get Bam for current Embiid, you do it every time and laugh at Pat Riley for going senile.

Current Embiid doesn't play so I'd rather have a pack of werther's originals let alone a fringe all star in Bam, but IF Embiid undergoes successful surgery with a positive outlook going forward then my opinion would be very different. That's the problem I see: if we want to move Embiid the assumption would be we don't think he'll resume his former level of play, in which case why would other teams want to take on his massive contract?

It's depressing but all I can do is play the waiting game on the Embiid front. Trade talk seems unlikely until we have a lot more medical clarity.

The Heat in general look checked out. I watched Herro score an efficient 16 points against the Knicks in the first half, and then he proceeded to finish the game with 20 all while sitting the entire fourth quarter. They had some bum by the name of Larsson soaking up his minutes. I don't think it's crazy to suggest that Spo's magic may have run its course, this team hasn't played with the same fire since Jimmy's department.

The Heat are in a funky space, with a wonky roster. This was going to be a transition year no matter what happened. They changed up the offense and parts of the defense from what got them deep in the playoffs in recent years. So even with Jimmy, it was going to be different. Then the Jimmy stuff went down. Jimmy doing Jimmy things was still a core part of what was going to be run, but it has been very clear from the start of the season that Bam had less opportunity to do what he likes to do. Plus Bam is starting to extend his range more and taking wayyy more 3 point shots than he did in the past.

So anyway you cut it, this year was going to be different, it just so happens it is different in a bad way. You can hang that on coaching.

I think Bam will be fine, he can still do what he has always been able to do, he is just in his spots less often and now with Ware even less then the start of the season.

The Heat just feel like a team that ready move on to next season. The team isn't giving out full effort like we used to seeing. The roster also looks very odd and not great. Far as Bam Adebayo himself, I think this is just a off year for him. I'm not convinced he has regressed this hard. if the Heat put together a roster that makes sense around Tyler Herro/Bam Adebayo, I see positive regression.

I'm actually surprised the Heat weren't bigger sellers at the deadline. Their player values are only going to drop more if they don't make the playoffs this year.

His extension was a huge overpay, no doubt. Still a good player, but why is he being paid like a franchise player?

Bam has always been one of the most overrated players in the league. He's always been a roleplayer - a smaller Joakim Noah. When there was an actual star on the team and he didn't really have to do much offensively it was fine, but we always knew he didn't really have a reliable jumper, offensive moves, or much gravity aside from operating decently as a short rolling hub. His value was always on defense, and aside from being a hustle guy he could have a decent offensive game every once in a while.

Not surprising

Lakers should offer that Mark Williams package + (salary filler + another FRP?) to the Heat for Bam. The entire Heat team looks checked out but Bam could be a really nice compliment to Luka. I'm assuming the Lakers may have pulled out of the Williams deal because they have a bigger fish potentially lined up this offseason..

The Heat can try FA in '26 or '27 to land another superstar to build around because they currently don't have one. Giannis, Jokic, Mitchell, and SGA can all potentially be FA's in '27. Not sure Riley has that kind of time or patience though.

Hes super inconsistant for how good he actually is. He was better as a defensive

How bad is Bam adebayo? isnt he amazin? Lakers were mullin over him for a bit (at least the fans were) .. the stat numbers dont look good of course, but without actually watching the games and seeing all the things that a player can do without them showing up in the stats, you cant really get an assessment. We have players like that on Lakers as well, not great stats, but they are still valuable and effective contributors in many different ways.

Havent you heard about Brook Lopez? Famous for being a tall mound of center who doesnt grab any rebounds?
But I heard somewhere that he actually does team defense so well, blocking out opponents, that allows for his team members to grab the def rebounds. So yea, he's a team player who's valuable but doesnt show up in stats.

I was just gonna mention Draymond, that's a very good comparison imo. That said, does it make sense to pay a guy like that 50mil$ a year especially with all the apron restrictions unless he's the difference between your team being a contender and pretender?

He knows the HEAT aren't going anywhere this season so why even kill yourself or go super hard like he's been doing most of his career. I just think he's taking it easy because HEAT might not get out the play in, they're a mess this season. But all in all, he's a very good defensive player and a 3rd option at best .

The Dubs would take him off the Heat's hands. This miniature lineup is getting old in more ways than one.

This is always the worst to see as a fan.

49ers just went through this with Deebo and Aiyuk.

Magic also with Wendell Carter. Zero effort. Makes me wish the contracts were all non guaranteed

Anyone would be depressed playing for the Heat right now.

Pat Riley should get through his head that no star player is afraid of him. LeBron showed it and then Butler proved it.

He should have traded Jimmy Butler before he bad mouthed him last year. Jimmy tanked his value on purpose. Warriors didn't have to overpay for him and Miami are stuck in a horrible situation and I'd not be surprised if Bam asks for a trade this summer.

4 game sample doesn’t say much. He averaged 27/11/5 in the previous 4 games.
Every team in the league would take Bam.

He's a role player who's being asked to do too much right now.
