That will be the culmination of a decade of mismanagement.

EVERYONE will be gone.

It’s time to sleep in the bed we made. The bill is due.

No established player wants to join this sinking ship. They absolutely had to make the playoffs this year to avoid catastrophe. It’s a complete failure at all levels. Heads need to roll.

Imagine if OKC wins the championship this year then next year they will get a Top 5 pick lol.

That's going to be a hard one to swallow. We need to be competitive next season.

The sad truth is we are one Herro or Bam injury away from giving OKC a top pick next year. Because of tax implications, unless we want to be a repeat offender next years team will be even weaker. Money wise it will be hard to keep Duncan or Mitchell or Jovic. Just a mess.

You want to tank, but at the same time, you can't really tank. Only saving grace is we draft a stud this year.

Step 1: Pray for OKC not to win the championship this season.

Step 2: Offer Bam for Hartenstein and Caruso and our draft pick back.

Step 3: We continue to tank and build through drafting.

Ain't going to win chit here and his prime is wasted. Both sides win imo while Bam collects his championship with Chet and SGA.

100% agree, it’s time. Tank hard and draft AJ

I am willing to lose every game the rest of this season for a %6 shot at Flagg and a 26% chance at the top 4.

This is a good draft there are some high level prospects up top, and some interesting guys in the lotto

Names I’m following

Flagg
VJ Edgecombe
Tre Johnson
Jeremiah Fears

Don’t sleep on what Miami can do with that Warriors pick either. The way Miami has drafted if they keep these picks they will likely be two immediate rotation pieces.

Exactly. This is a rare chance for Miami to land a player they wouldn’t normally have access to.

If they hit big, they could get a true franchise-altering talent—something they wouldn’t be able to acquire through free agency or trades without gutting their roster.

Even in the worst-case scenario, they’d still walk away with a high-level difference-maker. Given the circumstances, there’s really no downside to going all-in on maximizing their own pick this year.

I’m fully on board with the tank now. They’re in a reasonably good position and should keep losing at this point. I don’t think they’ll get another opportunity to draft this high anytime soon with the way they’re running things.

Imagine an alternate reality where we don’t start the infinite death loop by trading for the draft rights to KZ Okpala and we lose the play in game in ‘23 leading to Jimmy asking out then. We’d have all our future picks and in a great position to draft a franchise talent in the next few years…

We’re 5 games ahead of Toronto, it’s VERY unlikely but if we keep losing there’s a slim chance they could pass us up and right now I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t keep losing. The basketball gods are doing everything they can to get us a top pick to the point we have guys banking in game winning prayers.

Toronto has the easiest remaining schedule. We have Houston next who is on an 8 game winning streak to jump back up to 2nd in the West, we’re not sweeping the season series against them

Hawks are not going to trade him here. They don’t improve enough with anything we can give them. They are not in tank mode with the Spurs owning there swap. Rozier, Duncan, and picks or our young players package does nothing for them.

Our guard help is coming from the draft. We are not getting Trae Young but the prize is the next Oklahoma prodigy in Jeremiah Fears. With the 22nd pick we will have talented players like Will Riley, Rasheer Fleming, Kam Jones, and Nique Clifford to choose from.

Detroit and Houston are actually good examples of how fast things can change in just 1 year.

Detroit was the worst team in the league last year, they got a new coach (not saying we need one just pointing out the changes) who built schematics on both ends to fit his team and added vets who fit their team perfectly, now they’re the 6th seed.

Houston finally bought in to Udokas defense first mindset as players like Green and Sengun were getting benched for not defending, he didn’t care who you were. While they have a slightly above average offense they have the 4th best defense in the league (0.1 away from being 2nd).

Obviously player development has a slight role as well.

We’re cooked sadly if the goal is to win and we plan on fixing that with Fears who can’t shoot or playmake at even an average level at this point

We need to pray to move up and get that top 4 pick. 26% odds is actually pretty damn good
