Why is he still playing in Sioux instead of getting Alec Burks minutes last night? Christopher is a former phucking 1st rd pick. JJJ is the one who should be in Sioux right now

Toronto has the easiest remaining schedule. We have Houston next who is on an 8 game winning streak to jump back up to 2nd in the West, we’re not sweeping the season series against them
It's the remaining schedule:
2 x Wizards, 2 x 76ers, NO, Charlotte
These games are difficult to lose and they are not tanking, but trying to win. Also they might win a few games just getting hot from 3 (which they haven't done during the losing streak).
So even they lose those difficult to lose games 30% of the time, it's probably like a 4-9 you're looking at. I'd think it's more like 5-8.
Raptors would need to go 9-4 and at minimum, which is even more unlikely.
They're locked into the play-in.

Likely so but crazier things have happened. Wizards are apparently playing good when Middleton plays, pelicans seem to usually kick our ass it feels like regardless of who’s playing, and the hornets just came back from down 17 against us. We probably win a game or 2 we shouldn’t though to cancel out any losses against those teams (or at least that would’ve been the case in prior years but this team is over it).

Detroit was the worst team in the league last year, they got a new coach (not saying we need one just pointing out the changes) who built schematics on both ends to fit his team and added vets who fit their team perfectly, now they’re the 6th seed.
Houston finally bought in to Udokas defense first mindset as players like Green and Sengun were getting benched for not defending, he didn’t care who you were. While they have a slightly above average offense they have the 4th best defense in the league (0.1 away from being 2nd).
Obviously player development has a slight role as well.
Well they drafted a stud in Cade Cunningham, which is a better player than Herro and Bam. It's easy to turn around things when you have a true cornerstone, while this team have zero of that.

Offensively sure but defensively he’s not much of anything and Cade had been on the team for a little now, I’m just speaking of year over year improvement. Houston doesn’t have anyone better than Bam and arguably Herro but overall they have a deeper roster and they play the correct schemes that fit their team best and it’s led them to the 2nd seed in the west

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 9
Even if you consider Cade as the best between Cade Herro and Bam it’s not by a massive margin or anything, it’s basically the Houston situation. They just have a roster that fits together and plays to their strengths.
Does Houston or Detroit rely heavily on borderline washed up vets and undrafted players that arguably shouldn’t be in the league? I’m trying to think of some on each side but can’t

Meh Sengun is just 22 and already lightyears ahead of Bam offensively. If you’re going to argue about defense, keep in mind that the best player in the world focuses mainly on the offensive side. It’s offensive skill sets that are really winning games these days.

Light years in what way? Playmaking is dead even the only difference is a higher usage for Sengun. Bam is a better 3 point shooter and despite the horrible start to the season that’s still weighing over majorities vision of Bam, Bam is actually scoring more efficiently than Sengun. I know Sengun has the white European guy thing going for him but it hasn’t translated to his actual game. Potential is high for Sengun but Bams age 22 season **** on Senguns as well.
That’s not even me being a “Bam homer” that’s just the simple truth.

Hope we get a bargain on Davion for hopefully a backup PG position. I think he should definitely be starting with this current group but I’ve liked him as a little spark plug off the bench recently. That’s something that can translate to a good team

I really like Davion as a complementary piece to Herro in Tylers minutes.

Gotta have a guard next to Tyler that can defend, it’s a necessity. Davion will get you a steal leading to an easy layup and then come right back down and draw a foul on a moving screen to get you another possession. I love it, those sequences are momentum swingers. He had one last night

lol I never said Sengun is the better overall player, but considering he's 22 and the gap between him and the other player which is on his PRIME isn’t that wide, that says a lot.
You’re coming off a bit defensive, especially for not being a homer.

They’ll let him become a free agent and have him come back at a better rate much like they did with Highsmith. They won’t tender the 8 million RFA offer.

We actually have the 9th and 24th picks of the 2021 draft in Mitchell and Christopher. I still can’t understand how Christopher has yet to get any run when we need scoring behind Herro.

Not defensive in the least, just simply discussing ball and correcting your take that Sengun is “light years better than Bam offensively” because as of right now he isn’t. Who knows, that could definitely change in the future or it couldn’t.
I don’t think the age discussion holds too much weight considering Bam was better than Sengun at 22 as well.
It depends, this last 26 games version of Bam is far better, especially when you factor in defense, the 1st month and a half of the season trying to navigate the new offense and the Jimmy nonsense not so much but every season of Bam since becoming a starter is better than current Sengun, well see how he develops

Hes done it time after time. Hes so active. He plays his role well. Takes pressure off Tyler.
Id have them playing a high percentage of their minutes together.
Hes a Heat guy thru and thru. It feels like hes the best piece we got out of the JB deal. Got to figure the contract stuff out.
