Both guys are a perfect fit, I’d give a 1st for either in a sign and trade if we had to.

Bam/Jovic
Turner/Ware

Or

Naz/Jovic
Bam/Ware

That’s a very solid rotation for the power positions

Naz would be an amazing fit next to Bam. Wolves cap woes won’t allow for a S&T though and he’ll probably get more then the MLE.

Who’s our top cap space teams this summer? Do you know?

That’s what i’m thinking. And he comes with 2026 flexibility. If he works out you give him a nice contract in 2026. Maybe try and work Sexton in there too.

Been on the Collins train for a while now. Has a 26 million opt in next year that he’ll most likely take. If Markkanen is off the market or just too pricey then we should be bringing the West Palm Beach product back home in a prove it free agency here. Collins scoring skill set and hops from the 4 spot would be much welcomed here working in and out with Niko Jovic complimenting Bam and Ware. Collins will be playing his ass off here too for his next contract for his hometown squad. Great buy low player.

I would actually prefer Collins to Lauri considering contract. Gives us the ability to retool when Collins expires and we could still retain him on a good deal as well

Yeah makes a whole lot of sense here in the offseason to pursue this once he opts in. Markkanen will trade will take up all of our assets. Collins and Jovic are the way to go while Keshad Johnson continues to develop behind them. Allows us to fully focus on spending bulk resources on playmaking guards and wings who can score and play defense.

Thanks, so from my understanding skimming through there it’s the Nets and possibly Detroit. Will the nets destroy their future cap space to sign Naz to a huge deal? I guess it’s possible but I feel it’s unlikely. Detroit’s $25M in cap space is with THJ, Beasley, and Schroder coming off the books but why in the world would that not retain Beasley and at least THJ? I don’t think I view them as threats.

If we have access to the $14.1M MLE and promise Naz a starting spot next to Bam that might get it done tbh.

This summer we will trade Rozier and Jaime for Collins, Wiggins Duncan jovic and Ware with a 1st for KD, and then Sign Naz for the MLE. We will have a true 1st option now and a talent infusion to our to our roster in 2 mobile bigs than can bang and scrap with Bam. We will sign Mitchell to a bargain deal or issue the QO to him for 1 season (used to be like $5M idk now).

Having Naz and KD will then entice Ant to come to Miami in the summer of 2026 to join his former teammate and all time favorite player with his Team USA brothers Spo and Bam. It’s never “what’s the next move” it’s “what’s the next move after the next move”

Mitchell/Vet
Herro/Pelle
KD/Highsmith
Naz/Collins
Bam/Vet or Love

We will make a Pistons/Rockets type of jump next year after the retool.

Stay tuned.

He might help us make sure that the unprotected pick going to OKC is not that valuable. IF it does not come at the cost of an unprotected pick. Id be down. If it costs us a pick for what might be a rental then I'd have to think about it for a bit. We're in the fire we are in right now because we owe two picks that are about to be unprotected. A rental would feel like kicking the can, while digging yourself a deeper hole.

Yeah. We dont need to flip the whole roster. We just need to make this lineup more balanced and efficient. We need more efficient coaching to finish games. We arent that far away. We just need to continue to work hard and get a little lucky. Thats life and success in a nutshell though.

We’ve shown we can build big leads against anyone, if we can hold them we’re a top 3 seed lol. It’s on everyone from top to bottom

Naz Reid isn't taking the MLE. He's got a player option for more than that next year. Plus, some team will throw more money at him.

Probably but Tyus Jones was apparently due a big contract and signed the minimum last summer. You just never know. The only team with the ability to sign him to a big deal would be the Nets but why would they do that?

His options are to take the MLE or opt in if it’s not the Nets and if he opts in he’s still in a bench role when he could start for someone like us

At this point I rather embrace the rebuild instead of trading for KD. KD alone isn't getting us over this hump. I'd be okay with trading for Trae. He fits our timeline. This team needs more than 1 talented player added. Trae Young could stabilize our starting unit. Young, Herro, Wiggins(healthy plus another year in), Bam, Ware (2nd year experience) could be a very good starting 5. The bench would still need work outside of Mitchell and Niko. We need a true scorer off the bench and another reliable big with size off that bench.

Spo has either made it happen with a top heavy roster (Big 3 days) or a deep roster (early Jimmy finals run days).

The roster we have currently is none of the above.

Unless we burn ANOTHER asset to get rid of him he will be.

Return to Miami Heat
