Being unable to consistently beat a trap/blitz is 99.9% of the time a scheme/coaching problem in the NBA. Like, constantly looking this confused every time Dame sees a double when he crosses half court is probably the biggest indictment on the coaching staff, and that's saying something.
I mean, why is the slowest and least capable of creating off the dribble guy on the roster (Brook) so often the only dude recognizing this and hedging up above the break to bail out Dame? What is adding another combo guard/wing ball-handler gonna do when everyone else is just standing around their spots? This is high school level X's and O's.

This is why they’d be better suited to have KPJ or someone run a PnR on one side of the floor while Brook or Kuz or Giannis do a pin down screen for Dame to flash above rhe break on the other. Get Dame an advantage or mismatch without the ability to trap him. Also creates a mismatch downlow for whoever set the screen. Also distracts them from watching the ball so it slows help. You can even still have a good shooter on the strong side corner for three point spacing.
It shouldn’t be this difficult if even we can identify these issues.

Ideally we'd just switch to Prunty as interim. The spacing and organization got better immediately under him. Wouldn't have to pay him much extra, if at all. It's very unlikely, but Terry Porter was canned in mid March.
As for fixes, TP back at the 3, Rollins at the 2, probably resolves a lot of spacing, match-up, ball-handling, loose ball, etc. issues. Then just play Nance. Sims is not good, but just being a big, athletic, giving effort, & not being totally clueless ultimately made a difference for us. The bar's low. Nance may help our spacing too. But Doc dragged his feet on Sims as well.
Hard, hard, pass. You want a new coach, fine. I'm more concerned with getting better players.
Question: do you think that Warriors team minus Steph that we played last night had objectively better players than the Bucks?
No, they didn't. And that's why it was so disheartening. But I get your point. My response:
1) I'd pick the Bucks over last nights Warriors team in a series any time. It was a bad game and I'd even agree the Bucks were outcoached. But I'll take Giannis figuring it out in a seven game series.
2) At this point, I'm not against a new coach. I just want to make sure that neither ownership or posters fool themselves into thinking that changing to a better coach changes the direction and dynamic of the team. The roster has to change.

Keep June 2071 free. That’s the soonest you’ll need to worry about it.

Yes, Dame hasn't been the best at handling them, but he isn't given any help. Sometimes he'll get stuck and literally no one will move toward the ball.

Adrian Griffin was a defensive specialist who couldn't set up a D but was an offensive mastermind (compared to Doc at least).

Or Griffin had quality assistants that are no longer around.

There are many assistants of note, some quality, now. Doc just doesn't listen to them. Prunty ran a good o & d in his brief stint.

Re: PG Warriors - 10 Good Minutes, 38 Bad Minutes
My guess is that was still the residual Stotts effect. No doubt we were running those classic Dame high P&R sets in training camp/practice before Griffin shoved him out the door, and they likely didn't wanna scrap the entire offense a couple weeks before the season started. If I recall correctly though, we used them less and less as the season wore on. By the time Doc took over, they had all but evaporated from the playbook.
