AD trade destinations

Post#1 » by HadAnEffectHere » Fri Mar 21, 2025 5:17 pm

The Mavs are a grease fire with no hope (Kyrie is old and coming off an ACL and they traded away all of their picks) and AD has almost no prime years left. I would assume he asks for a trade this offseason to try to compete in his few remaining prime years. What destinations make the most sense?

Well, to add some salt... it seems like AD wants to return to the court as soon as possible and the Mavs have no interest in him ruining the Tanking until the end of the season. Could there be friction there? I suppose the Kings/Hawks/Houston/Lakers/Warriors would be very interested...
I think I'd be very interested to see what Houston offers.

basketball wise basically every team trying to win makes sense. Financials will eliminate some. The injury risk will scare off some others. Then the reality is if he demands a trade he will have a destination or two specifically in mind.

So while 2/3 of the league should have some level of interest, its going to come down to 1 or 2 spots.

Them folks trying to get a lottery pick to trade so they can get either KD or another aging star to go with Kyrie/AD/Lively this summer.

Yeah, there's no way the Adelson family is willing to go into the tax by getting KD.

Charlotte is the dark horse.

Dallas gets to tank in 2026 and 2027 with their own picks. Rebuild a competitive team for their new stadium/arena.

Charlotte gets to take on AD for less than other teams would pay since they have Dallas's first round pick.

They gave a high 2nd to go into the tax for wait for it, Cody Martin after the Luka trade. We can all hate on the dumb decisions, but we don't get to ignore what they've actually done.

AD is a Top 10/15 player... I guess the HORNETS will have to add a lot more, besides the FRP 26... ...is this year's pick or is Miller included in the deal?

Think problem is his salary increases by 11 million. Spurs, Hawks, Clippers and GSW should have interest . How many firsts he nets? at least 2 imo

There are multiple iterations of the deal.

Ball + 2027 1st Returned is a good starting point.

I just can't see them trading him so soon after all that hullaballoo

Granted I didn't see the Doncic trade either so what do I know

The Thunder if they fail to reach final is a team I would be watching for. They got plenty of picks and young players that they can trade. The Spurs could be interesting with the assets they have, but I think will be their saving cap space for Luka Doncic in the Summer of 2026. The Grizzlies, Magic, and Hawks are sneaky teams I would look for.

This pees me off about the Mavs, he wants to play, but they won't let him, shame on them.

He's practicing again with the Texas Legends with an eye towards playing once cleared. Am I missing some reporting?

And I've heard reporting saying they want him to play and his camp saying wait, why.

Help me clear up whats true.

Also, he shouldn't play. Even if he wants to. They aren't beating OKC if they can even get to them which feels overly optimistic. So why risk him?

I haven't been following that much, just what I seen he wants to play, but they won't let him all I know

Right what Im trying to figure out is one is he healthy enough to play. And if so which side doesn't want him playing.

I get right now the Mavs are the punching bag de jure so I get a natural inclination to say its them. I just haven't seen anything that actually says that. Was hoping you had something I missed.

but sounds like you just have vague speculation

I would be TOTALLY against this, but I could see his hometown Bulls offering something nice
#10 pick, Matas, PWill, Collins or Vuc, Ayo for AD

Bulls go with
White/Jones (resigned)/JCarter
Ball/Huerter/Terry
Giddy/Phillips/Terry
AD/Phillips/Giddy
Vuc or Collins/Smith/AD

Again, I wouldn't want that deal, but we are playing well right now. Adding a top 10 guy makes us a decent team-our FO doesn't seem to want to rebuild

Dallas gets Matas, Ayo and the #10 pick plus Collins or Vuc's expiring. Have to eat PWill but there is some talent there

Yeah if this iteration of OKC proves to be a bad mix, I think OKC would start with Hartenstein and a bunch of picks.

But with Chet I think health is really important.

No reason to trade AD as funny as it is to talk about. Try to get healthy and hope you can be a player come playoffs 2026.

I read it in a Spanish media outlet... the information is based on American sources... although I didn't really look for more information, so I'm not sure of its veracity... but here's the link.
