Even Durant played too fast. Jimmy slows the entire game down and cuts the other team to shreds like a surgeon. No risky passing....no fancy garbage....he just get's it done.

He's solved a lot of the weaknesses of the team

- Lower TO rates
- More FTs made
- Slowed the pace down at times to give guys like Steph and Dray more rest during plays
- Less predictable team that relies on 3s
- Whenever Dray is acting like a mad man, the Warriors can give the ball to Jimmy to calm things down
- Obviously just better defensively overall, on and off.

The team's attack is a lot more balanced now.

He has big positive impact but next game versus Denver will be the first one against top team with tall frontcourt so I am very curious about it.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

I wish everyone was reasonably healthy for this game. Podz may be out, Curry is banged up, Butler is not near 100%, Kuminga is just back from two months rehabbing. And the Nuggets have their own share of players out and/or hobbling.

The draft capital to acquire Jimmy was one late frp and 2 srps from the schoeder trade. We also got rid of Kyle’s bad contract which would have required at least 2 srp. Essentially net-net, we traded Wiggins plus this years frp down 15 - 20 spots to acquire Jimmy. A+ trade all around.

You can usually buy a 2nd round pick if you want. It's what you did to get Jordan Bell which was another indication of why I needed to quit following the Bulls (was a life long Bulls fan). The FO said they were going to rebuild so they traded Butler which let them swap from 16 to 8 to get Markkanen and then solid their top of the 2nd round pick. Chicago fans deserve better.

I don't think that's true any more. When is the last time any team bought a 2nd round pick?

Many teams have huge payrolls so they're looking to fill out rosters with cheap players, including 2nd round picks who could take up 2-way slots.

Either that or 2nd round picks are like fodder for trades.
Actually. We bought the 52nd pick to acquire Quinten Post. We had originally traded that pick for Lindy III to Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City traded it to Portland and we bought it from Portland. With cash. But if you're meaning a high second round. I'm sure it still happens plenty.

Jimmy's scoring has been pretty ass if you take away his free throws on this team. An efg of .457.

He has a certain gravity. There was a play after Curry was injured when he had a guard on him under the hoop. So the Warriors really tried to get him the ball. He caught the ball but couldn't finish because the restricted area was packed.

So JK was at the FT line and there was nobody within at least 5 feet of him. He could have had a running start but instead they worked the ball inside.

JK wasn't getting foul calls so maybe they wanted to get the ball to Butler instead. Otherwise, the Raptors would have to block his dunk attempt or try to draw a charge when he had that much runway to attack the rim.

Yeah, specifically worrisome is his finishing. Wiggins-esque and that's not a good thing. Hopefully it comes around.

Don't see how his finishing can't improve from here and despite that look at the record with him playing.

Why would you take away his free throws?

It was what I was kind of worried about. He operated with a lot of space in Miami and you have to actually guard Bam. Teams don't guard Dray and we don't always have a lot of shooting, which is weird having Steph, Buddy and Post.

I will say that his foul drawing obviously offsets any scoring issues he currently is having, but just something to note.

Luckily his career FTA per game is slightly higher in the playoffs than the regular season including both seasons the Heat went to the Finals. His FTR is down a bit, so that means his attempts went up. I'd say we can expect it to be similar, and if down not by a ton.

The D against Jimmy is basically box and 1 like Curry got too. Just that Jimmy is in the paint and got shooters ready for wide open 3s. Curry had a harder time with the box going all the way out at the 3 point line.

More fouls are called in the playoffs vs. the regular season? :dontknow:

I hope Iam completely wrong, it seems more and more teams are figuring out how to play gsw with Jimmy on it. Just like the start of this season it took the league about 12 games to figure it out. Against the heat, the players gave so much effort but just couldnot score. Also The league and refs weren't going to let Jimmy win, that was also clear.

It's pretty incredible at how synergistic the 3 man game between Curry, Jimmy, Dray is. It's not a your turn my turn but they all work so well together. And they were able to do it in such a short time frame.

That's what happens when you have 3 super high IQ players. It was the same when prime Iggy was on the team a decade ago.

Yea Iguodala was good and understood what was going on, but Jimmy brings another dimension and was dropped in the middle of the season.
