I would think Craig gets those mins this year. He's got way more playoff experience.

Plus Oshae got those mins to play small ball 5 for a few mins, since Kornet couldn't defend the Pacers stretch bigs, KP was out and Tillman missed a couple games. (I think birth of a child or injury?)

All of that stuff might not fall into place this year..and even if it does, Oshae could play small ball 5..I'm not sure Craig could..and Baylor definitely can't..

I’m actually looking forward to these last dozen garbage-time games that won’t affect our playoff seeding because of Baylor Scheierman. I want to see what he can do.

Yeah, they have been fluffing him in the G too. I have been laughing about it because it’s not his fault. I hope he continues to play well but I wish the media cared about other good stories too. It’s the same with Kennect (spl) early in the season, he was the next GOAT. Now it’s Reeves. It’s lakers and LBJ berry hugging.

Honestly, I’m begging for a draft pick of Brad’s to hit, because we’re going to need these guys soon! It’s rough where he’s picking, but he’s going to have to find a gem or two! He’s a trade and FA wizard, there’s no doubt about it, now we need to see something with these draft picks.

Scheierman is Brad's only 1st-rounder so far, and # 30 at that, so that's looking pretty darned good.

I'm surprised they gave up on Watson (#54) as quickly as they did. Though it's just been a couple of garbage minutes at a time, Anton has since made it into 5 games with the Knicks.

And JD (#53) and Jordan (#45) are still very young (22 and 20) with the jury still out on them. After the Walsh pick, Brad moved away from robbing the cradle with late picks, which has helped.

PS Along with their own late 1st-rounder this year, the C's get a 2nd rounder: "BOS will receive the most / more favorable of GSW's 2025 2nd round pick, WAS's 2025 2nd round pick, DET's 2025 2nd round pick protected for selections 56-59, and DAL' 2025 2nd round pick;" Right now that would put them at the very top of the 2nd round.

I think Tatum is the emergency small-ball 'center' (miles ahead of dusting off Tillman), and in that case Baylor's size and activity help him slot into one of the wings.

To be clear, I don't think Baylor is in the playoff rotation if the Cs are healthy, but he seems well ahead of Craig and Walsh for spot/emergency wing duty.

Has Walsh's ship sailed here? I've always liked him, but it now feels a long shot that he ever develops a role here.

I'm not sticking a fork in Walsh completely yet..but it's not looking good. You'd hope the shot was further along by now. Or if not, you'd hope that the defense was just so freaking elite that we're talking about a Matisse Thybulle/Herb Jones/Tari Eason/Peyton Watson type of elite wing defender with offensive limitations but that's not happening either.

He's still young..and under contract for 1 more guaranteed season next year. So maybe next season things start to click more for him..it's tough though when you're not getting consistent playing time..but we can't just spoonfeed him consistent playing time if he's not earning it..

Baylor is looking good and his confidence is really growing. And he's obviously the better shooter, on a team that shoots more 3's than any team ever..plus the way he's hustling out there, going after loose balls and rebounds, kind of makes up for what he's lacking on D. And his D hasn't been that bad.

And think about what that would do for his confidence going into the offseason. If he comes in to a playoff game, even if it's just for like 5 minutes but he makes some plays, dives for a loose ball and then hits a big 3 and we win the game.

As opposed to just riding the bench the whole postseason..

Walsh hopefully can make some strides but if the Cs nail this draft it might be hard to find PT. He is 3.5 years younger than Baylor S and is cheaper and likely younger than whoever we draft in the first round.
He did get in 45 games this year and not all garbage time. He has looked really solid at times.
That said Baylor S is looking like he has moved above him in the PT ladder.
