If we pay Giddey 30M next year, draft #11, and don't trade anyone, we will have exactly one roster spot left and 17M to spend on it under the tax. Doesn't seem like it will be an issue to keep Tre Jones if we want to. I don't know that we'd want to based on the rest of the roster, but if we want to we can. Maybe if there are other transactions made that might change though.

The capulator is awesome, I didn't know he kept it up to date still.

The capulator is awesome, I didn't know he kept it up to date still.

There's a couple minor formatting errors, like to select the Bulls you kinda have to click on an empty space (it appears as if there's only like half the teams but it's just that the names of half of them don't render correctly), but it's programmed to amazingly be up to date. Like has our current roster post trade and even current #11 pick projection salary etc. Pretty impressive.

What? Giddey might be the best passer/facilitator in the entire history of the Bulls. I guess you don’t consider him a 1?

Rondo was definitely on Giddey's level, maybe higher. I can't remember how great he really still was even at passing in his one year with the Bulls though. They definitely stood out to me as probably the two best passers. I'd probably give the edge to Giddey cause his size provides him a wider range of passing angles - vertically and horiztontally, than Rondo.

We were winning playoffs series against Celtics if he didnt go down. Giddey can only do that in his dreams. With him we had 2-0 lead. Team looked as cohesive as it could on floor. Moment he went down everything was lost. You can say what you want for Rondo but he was true PG and he controlled game as nobody else when it mattered.

Not like certainly player in fake wins on bad Bulls team which can only win against teams playing 4th lines to improve lottery odds.

Lol, Giddey literally had a better playoff game than either of those games from Rondo less than one year ago.

Based on what his role would be on a healthy Bulls team, I'm not sure paying more than $6-7 million would be wise. He'd be fighting for minutes with Ayo/Ball/Giddey/Coby/Huerter at the G spots. I'm not sure there are enough minutes.

Jones is true PG, which Ayo isnt.. Giddey, White are starting backcourt, Huerter is starting SF.. Ball always misses big chunks of season..

So backup backcourt with Jones at PG, Ayo at SG and Ball whenever he is available is easy point forward, PG/SF basically.. I think there can be minutes for all of them.

But there could be less for PWill and Terry at SF going forward. We shall see how this resolves with draft night and offseason moves. We could see some guard traded or even wing. Too many Q at the moment.

Fun fact: I just got aware that Tyus, the older brother of Tre is an upcoming free agent as well. Kind of competition at among FA point guards.
Tyus is 3 years older and though he had a more stellar college career, it took him some more years to find his role in the NBA.
Not sure whom I'd prefer, has Tre (age 25) have overtaken his older brother?

If there is any silver lining on the Tre injury is that if he doesn't come back this season, it may lower his price on the market that was looking to be close to the MLE, maybe down to $9 or $10M.
