Am I right in saying that Post is only signed through the end of next season? Does that mean that he'll be a free agent in 2026? If so, then it would appear that not getting a third year team option on him was a bit of an eff up.

I believe he is only signed till the end of next season but as I understand it this is all the salary cap rules etc allowed, not allowing them to sign him to a cheap 4 year contract. Someone posted he would be a UFA at the end of next season.

He'll be an RFA at the end of next season, and they could have signed him to a 3 or 4 year contract with the second round exception when they drafted him.

EDIT: But you're right, when converting him from a 2-way using the minimum salary exception, they could only sign him for two years.

I meant RFA. You are doubtless better informed than I am, but what I understood was that by the time they decided they wanted to sign him they could only sign him for 2 years.

You're right, I added that above. Since they converted him from a 2-way.

People here like to come up with lots nicknames for players, but since you're all lazy he will invariably end up being named by his initials QP, so what's the point? :D

Or more likely he will be called Q, the same as every other Quinten ever.

Making up nicknames is fun. His teammates say QP, so that'll probably be it. Also, Bruce Fraser is Q.

I keep wanting to say Kewpie Mayo.

Well that sucks for Quinten coming to a place where he's the only one with a Q name but can't use Q as a nickname. But when you use QP all I see is Quisp... cold cereal I had as a child. Yeah I'm old.
