Every other player anywhere close to the MVP conversation gets penalised for having good teammates.

only if he can't stand out vs his own teammates. SGA is having a way better year than any other player on the thunder.

I expected better seasons from both J-Dub and Chet, Chet has the injury to blame but the point still stands. They could both have been all stars and all nba players this year.

SGA is winning regardless so its all good. What will Joker fans do when its announced?
My dream is a Jokic 1st round exit to the Wolves again. Or outplayed by Luka or the Warriors. I just think he is being exposed, he is like a luxuary Embiid but not as impactful as his stats say due to the defense/lack of forced takeovers (think LeBron game 6 vs Celtics 2012). Overrated!!! Still a top 15-20 +/- ATG but not more. Those guys would beat the Wolves last year.

Jokic is literally 2nd in career RAPM which ignores the box score entirely https://xrapm.com/table_pages/RAPM_29y.html

Anyone who wants to "use his brain", use it in this while throwing these guys under the bus.

Im not sure if you are making stuff up bcs you dont have any other arguments, or your sources suck, but those number are absolutely not true.

My source is an obscure site called basketball-reference.com, we are part of a conspiracy to make Jokic teammates look good.

i need direct quote since numbers im pulling from same source are not even close, and i compared them to couple more sites.

Tears of joy? Why would we be "sad" when we have won the battle? I wouldnt consider myself a hater either, just not sold on him being comparable to a LeBron.

Any metric that has Jokic as a much superior defensive player to Michael Jordan needs to be thrown in the trash

RAPM only goes back to 1997, so that’s just Jordan in his last two years in Chicago + his two years in Washington. Considering that we know that Jokic has GOAT-level impact on defensive rebounding and half of the data there for Jordan is with the Wizards, I don’t think this is a particularly surprising result.

SGA is going to win MVP because of the record difference. The discussion on who was more individually valuable is still interesting though as there is not a clear answer either way

Since this is a regular season award what are their stats during the regular season we after are judging the regular contributions arent we?

Jokic had carrer high 22 on/off in 23, this shrunk to 2 in PO, Murray had good but unspectacular 6 in RS, that jumped to 10.
Are you saying Jokic is GOAT RS player but terrible choker in the PO, or maybe on/off doesn't mean you really are the diffwrence between the on and the off?
Defense wins draft lotteries!

If Jokic keeps missing games I’ll probably flip from 50/50 to a preference for SGA

Do you still think that Jokic has a very good supporting cast and that it’s right up there with any non-Cavs+Thunder+Celtics supporting cast?

In what world is Steph 6th, lol. The warriors were literally sub 500 when he played before jimmy showed up and are now 7-3 when he doesn't play. And his box score stats are nothing to write home about.
