OKC (now), BKN (soon), Utah (later).

Post#1 » by Xman » Sat Mar 22, 2025 10:50 pm

OKC has some good picks coming and some bad ones. Utah has some recent picks that are not showing much and could use a new spot since rebuild is going long. Brooklyn has picks and wants to do a quick rebuild.

OKC sends to Utah:
2027 Denver first, protected 5/5/5/2nds
2029 Denver first, protected 5/5/2nds
2026 second best first of LAC/HOU/OKC
2026 UTA first, protected 8/extinguished
Utah also gets KWilliams, Dieng, bad JWilliams

Brooklyn gets Topic, DJones, Hendrix, KGeorge , 20th pick from OKC

OKC gets CamJ, Kessler, 2029 Utah 2nd, 2029 2nds from bkn (Dallas, gs, Memphis, bkn).

OKC gets a shooter it needs and great big depth for nonpremium picks. Deeeep roster. OKC still has the good picks owed to them. The seconds are fun twist giving them ten of the 2029 seconds.

BKN gets a solid return for Cam in a pick and four young prospects - especially Topic. Gives the Utah prospects a new chance before rookie deals are up. Adding five first round picks to their roster sets them up to develop a base of talent on the roster with tons of cap space.

Utah clears out recent picks that are not developing for future picks.

I don't see a need in OKC for Kessler when they already have two very good centers.

Hartenstein played 48
Chet played 24
Out of 70
Seems like they could use him.

Nah no interest in a C . Jaylin is a more than adequate 3rd C. OKC biggest need is a big forward.

Teams don't invest in a third starting caliber center when they already have two, it just makes no sense for OKC. If they have a second year in a row with both injured maybe they look for a durable center, but we've got no indication that IHart has any chronic problems, and hopefully Chet doesn't, either. Bad injury years happen.

OKC is currently third in three point shooting. They are also number one in team defense.

The team is about to supermax SGA and max JDub and Chet this Summer. Following extensions for Caruso earlier this year, the cap sheet is full. Presti chose Caruso over Cam Johnson.

The price okc is being asked to pay here is a rebuilding fever dream

Culling your picks that will probably not help you
Makes sense.

THUNDER couldn't afford to pay Kessler or they'd be in big trouble. I think they should convert Caruso (repeated card) into Cam Johnson...send Caruso to a 3rd team, which gives value + salary equalization to the NETS and add a FRP..Who would pay for Caruso?

The opposite is true. Keeping, extending the picks gives okc the best chance at sustaining a good team.

OKC is already really good and already really deep. They don't need any depth. If they're going to cash in on their stockpile of picks, they will do it for one real good starter, not a bunch of redundant depth. A guy like Deni Avdija would make a ton of sense in that he is real good, real cheap, and plays a position of need (PF).
