Re: PG: The Tyler Kolek Game
Kolek had 3 steals last night in 18 minutes
He had active hands on defense and did play some defense after all

The first half lead was built in large part when Kolek was PG and handling the ball.
In the 2nd half Thibs started using Cam as PG and Kolek off ball. Why?
The first half lead was because Mikal and OG were hitting their shots. Kolek ran some basic plays that we usually run.
Cam and Kolek did not play together, Kolek was the pg, what do you mean?
Kolek led the team in assists and was making BEAUTIFUL passes. His timing and placement was constantly excellent. Give him some credit.
I saw the second half condensed and almost every time I saw (who I thought was) Cam handling the ball and Kolek in the corner, again and again. Maybe all the other possessions had Kolek handling the ball but he didn’t play many minutes anyway in the 2nd half.
Kolek and Cam did not play together. Kolek was the main ballhandler the whole time. I dont know what replay you were watching man

He looked good out there last night. Hopefully he get some more burn until Brunson comes back. He’s the best passer out of our 3 PGs.

I thought he gave us great minutes and really looked solid. He was communicating on both ends of the floor as well. Directing traffic. Anyone who watched that kid play last night and doesn't want to see more is crazy. He was making crispy smart passes on time and in rhythm. He was active on defense and aware. He may need to work on things but, he looked solid to me. Could have used him more this season for sure.

I was watching the one where in the 2nd half he kept getting stuck in the corner. At that point I knew I was watching a Thibs coached team.
Seems like most of the board and a good Knicks channel agree Kolek played well.

No, that is show clip where a host talked mostly about Kolek and I was only posting it to share with you.
But you want to be a moron and instead of discuss, try to win.
So, you can stop laughing now, as we are all laughing at you.
btw, Kolek tied for the team lead with 3 steals. But did that in way less minutes. So much for the poor kids defense.

Imagine spending the entire thread criticizing people for liking what they saw in Kolek, harping on "Fraaaaannnnnnnnnk" when you're a Mudiay stan. Have some shame.

Mudiay would have been Michael Jordan but Fizdale did not develop him properly, always benched him when he made a mistake, started DSJ over him, lied to his face about fixing him. Fizdale also stopped Knox from becoming KD
I'm starting to get the hang of your posting style!

One of the most cringe worthy posts in this thread. We got the holy trinity of your trauma classics - Frank, Fizdale and Knox mentions. I don't even want to think of how much they hurt you, cause you can't go 2-3 replies without mentioning 1 of them in any thread.

Re: PG: The Tyler Kolek Game
Half of the people in here commenting about Kolek didn't even watch the game last night. The kid looked like a floor general out there and consistently made the right pass. The steals were a nice bonus along with that one "and 1" drive to the hoop. The 2nd half when we lost the lead, had very little to do with him. He wasn't even out there for most of it if I recall correctly. Nobody is saying he's our savior, but it was nice to get a glimpse of his potential with the starting unit. I can only imagine that he would be even more polished if he had gotten some burn throughout the season. 4 games in the G league, and a few minutes playing in garbage time once every few weeks didn't do anything to enhance his growth. IMO doing that to a young player hinders his development.

Well said.
You know where else he looked like a crafty floor general? Marquette. Consistently. Even when he was against bigger or quicker players, he willed shots and used his wits to create for his teammates.
He would have been a smart draft pick for any team at any position, because, well, he’s a good capable point guard.
Last night was not an anomaly, and shame on folks for treating it like it was for the sake of RealGM clout (I pity y'all for wanting that, lol). Give the guy props for looking like the exact player we knew he was coming out of college. Y’all are weird and the constant schticks replacing actual analysis and fun in 2025 makes this place the worst.
