The SEC has seven teams in the Sweet 16, breaking the previous record of six when the ACC set it in 2016. The conference already set a record for most teams in the tournament with 14.

"It shows the SEC, if it wasn't the best, it's one of the best conferences of all time," said Matthew Murrell of Ole Miss. "You can say what you want to say, but you've got seven guys taking up almost half of the Sweet 16, it's something special."
