"Adolescence" is heartbreaking, but really good. "Toxic Town" was good. Kind of a slow burn, but good. Sad that this stuff still happens in our world today.

I was excited about it, but then saw the horrible reviews and 18% RT critic score. So I put it on with very low expectations and figured I'd laugh at it for a minute and turn it off.

It was pretty good and fun imo lol. I think the audience scores will be much higher than the snobby critics on this one. I mean it's not winning best picture but as a big budget adventure it did its job of entertaining me.

My kids and I really enjoyed it. I had the same expectations going in.

I don't think this has been mentioned yet. It is a fictional story based on real characters from the time. Mary Carr and the Forty Elephants, Hezekiah Moscow, and Sugar Goodson were all real people. The acting is superb. I just noticed at least two of the actors are also in Adolescence, which looks good too!

Saw it on Disney+. Liked it. Stephen Graham is a national treasure. His counterpart, who I’m not familiar with, was really really good too.

I had fun watching it. Chris Pratt and Woody Harrelson and Jenny Slate are all good in the movie. I thought Mackie was funny too. Esposito lowkey good performance. It was kind of an ensemble cast actually lol. Gronk cameo even lol.

I'm still adjusting to Millie Bobby Brown not being Eleven.

I seem to have a similar mind as you for the stuff we watch because I could've left what you wrote word for word and attached my name to it and it would've been fine. My favorite character was actually the mail lady bot. She was hilarious.

This is probably going to be pretty good….. or diabolically bad. Anywhere in between seems unlikely.

Anybody watched the Sly Stone documentary on Hulu? Keep meaning to check it out, but haven't found the time between moving, kids, baby on the way, and Celtics game I've not watched much except mindless fall asleep to it stuff for a couple months.

One of the rare times I left the theater not thinking "this would have been a better movie if they had cut like half an hour of fluff". Somehow does a better job of expressing human emotions with no people and no dialogue than (at least) 95% of entertainment content out there. Well deserved oscar for best animated film.

Dope Thief on Apple TV with Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) and Wagner Moura (Narcos) is dope.

The Karen Read documentary on Max is interesting look at legal system in MA. I never followed the story that closely at the time when everyone else I work with was obsessing over it.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Probably a good idea not to obsess over it. I haven't watched the documentary, but just to be clear she is guilty af (of driving drunk, and in the process, causing an accident that ended up leading to her boyfriend's death). The evidence is pretty straight forward. She turned down a reasonable plea agreement early on.

She has strong defense/PR teams working on her behalf that have done a good job of shifting public opinion by generating headlines and pushing propaganda on the internet. A lot of media coverage has played to public opinion more so than the facts of the case. There may be some police corruption in the picture, but the facts of the case are mostly well established and straight forward regardless.

Anyone in here finish Severance? Maybe the best episode of the show in the finale. In the midst of some damn fine television with Severance and Invincible as well as some other things.

Has anybody seen "The Apartment," a French film from 1996? This thing starts slowly, and then it turns all Hitchcock on you and becomes a mind**** of the first order. Love stuff like this. Bonus: A young Monica Bellucci is in it.

Really good! I have lots of thoughts about Severance but my buddy at work is a megafan of the show and talked my ear off about it, so I'm spent haha.

I'm midway through The Residence on Netflix and enjoying it more than I expected to. Light-hearted murder mystery thing with lots of great characters. Pretty fun.

Also, Yellowjackets remains nuts, in the best way.

Thanks for the reco. I'm always looking out for good non-Hollywood films.
