The goal of any franchise is to get the team to the NBA finals. Its not to just signed all the marqee names.

It’s to win championships, not just get there lol. There’s a lot of right in your prior post but they did not do a good job with the roster overall. The best roster we had of the Jimmy era was year 1 (post deadline), that shouldn’t have been the case.

I’ve never disliked a former Heat player as much as I dislike Jimmy. Guy gets in my damn nerves now.
Exactly. I really hope we win this game tonight. I would love to see Tobins take on it afterwards. Beating jimmy with the same team he quit on would be hilarious.

Bulls winning is very good (when you are rooting for the Heat to have a high draft position) for multiple reasons:
i) Once Heat are locked into 10th, there is no benefit of getting wins, they can't move up or down
ii) This opens the door to rest Bam/Herro/Wiggins and get more losses
iii) Gives some young guys a chance to get playing time
Hope this happens sooner rather than later, but at least the last few games this could be the case

I can see Jimmy just getting clowned tonight unless he's hitting 3s (news at 11 he's not)

Good job? He got to the nba finals twice! The roster got him to the nba finals twice! It makes no damn sense to say the franchise did not do a good job by getting him to two nba finals and a conference title. The roster produced regardless of your personal trade machines. The Heat was the 2nd winningest post season team during Butler era.

No, Jimmy Spo and Bam got us to the finals despite the roster. We must be forgetting how much we were relying on undrafted guys that wouldn’t have even been in the league if they weren’t playing for the Heat. Hell, we still have plenty of those types of guys

If only we could grab a guy like Ausar Thompson off the Pistons.
He's the PERFECT role player in a Spoelstra system, I bet Spo would dream at the thought of adding another hyper athletic guy like him with elite defense

My entire website looks like it’s framed, or like the dimensions I’m viewing on here are different. Did this happen to anyone else? I’m on an iPhone, maybe I hit some random setting while scrolling

I contend the 2021-2022 season was as good or better.

I prefer what Dragic and Crowder brought to the table and liked our depth in the front court better with Meyers and KO but it’s close. I think we should’ve continued to build on those years instead of continuously taking steps back and I think delusion in our own players potential played a big part in us not doing that.

twix2500 wrote:For all the weak takes about how the Heat failed Butler. Butler will be in the HOF because of his stint with the Miami Heat. If you take his career outside of the Miami Heat he would never make the HOF. The Miami Heat aka Pat Riley was the only franchise to give Butler his own team and not make him a side peice or complementery player. The Heat built the team to complement his talents and that got him to two NBA FInals and one conference finals with legendary moments. End of discussion
The Miami Heat is NOT Pat Riley. We are quick to remind that no player is bigger than the franchise but yall think putting Riley above the franchise is okay time after time. This sentiment is becoming even stranger because its clear Pat has made some very poor roster decisions as of late too. No comment on the rest or your post but had to speak to that little comment.

Saudades.

It being close (and IMO 2022 was more complete--Meyers Leonard was reg season fools gold like Yurt) kinda goes against your point. Dragic aged out then Lowry aged out.
Damn salary cap limitations. Let us do what we want!

I'd argue that 21-22 team was literally built in Jimmy's image. Went out and got his friend to run point that he wanted, and signed rugged vets that fit his play style. The result was a team that was 1st in the East, any time you're 1st in your conference you are in theory good enough to contend for a title. We were just unlucky in the ECF, and that's the probably the best word to describe the Jimmy tenure - unlucky. It's just harder to admit it than it is to find somebody or something to lash out at.
