Jimmy Butler: I'm Always Painted As The Bad Guy

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Mar 25, 2025 1:36 pm

Jimmy Butler is set to make his return to Miami on Tuesday as the Golden State Warriors visit the Heat. Miami has a tribute video planned for Butler during the game, but the veteran wing doesn't seem overly moved by it.

"Will I watch?" Butler said when asked about the potential of a Heat tribute video. "Yeah, I’ll watch. If they have one, if they don’t. It makes no difference. It really doesn’t."

Butler said he wouldn't have signed an extension, even if one had been offered, and said he knew his time with Miami was coming to an end. The 35-year-old veteran also refused to take all of the blame for the breakup with the Heat, saying some of the blame is owed to the team too. But Butler seemingly has made peace with how he's portrayed.

"I’m always painted as the bad guy. Everywhere I’ve been, I’ve always been the problem," Butler said. "So we’ll take it. I don’t got nothing to say. I’m not mad at being the bad guy. It’s all the way that everything is portrayed. Some people talk to the media, some people don’t. I’ve never been one to tell my side of the story to almost anybody. Let everybody think that this is what happened and we’ll ride with it."

No other NBA star player has been coddled and still got his way every single time like Jimmy Butler and James Harden have. It’s incredible.

And yet both still have victim mentality. Hopefully neither one ever wins a championship before retiring because that would be even more rewarding them for their behavior.

The Warriors are 16-3 with Jimmy. Jimmy took an untalented team to the Finals. I'd say the Heat are the losers in this trade (shocker). If ya'll wanna choke on the media's bs and he say she say drama, that's your choice to be that gullible. They do the same crap with Draymond. Ya'll want polite little golden boys when sports are fierce competition. Is Jimmy Buckets a winner and competitor? Hell yeah. That's why he fits in with the Warriors culture. GSW loves him.

The previously lottery bound Warriors are now 16-3 with him in the lineup. What a team cancer!

And Miami went to the Finals twice with him. This disproves nothing.

Um...what?

It proves whatever "bad guy" shtick you want to paint about the guy, the guy is a proven WINNER. Is that not the point of competition? smh

The Heat can enjoy their Canadian Polite Guy Andrew Wiggins who has no dawg in him while they continue to downward spiral in the standings lmao

Some NBA fans are SOFT AF and it shows you've never actually competed in basketball

Like some fans (who just want golden boys and entertainment), some players are only there for the paycheck, don't love the game, etc., and I suspect that's precisely why Jimmy Butler had clashes with some teammates and organizations. Some organizations (like the Twolves) are traditional loser franchises and that clashes with a true competitor. Jimmy fits in with the Warriors because Joe Lacob is a badass owner with standards who likes to WIN, so he brings in winners. F all the rest.

A few things here.. Butler was never given the reins when he was the best player and had to fight for every inch starting in Chicago and everywhere he went the teams were better.. Chicago were better with Jimmy...Timberwolves finally made the playoffs with Jimmy the 76ers were one bounce off the NBA finals with Jimmy and probably a title and they choose Tobias Harris instead the miami heat went to 3 ecfs in 6 years and 2 nba finals with a subpar team and decided to tell Jimmy off for being injured and hand the reins to Tyler hero lol.. Jimmy has a case here for being upset and Harden doesn't.

Yep because Jimmy has won a championship, right?

He has the exact same hardware as Wiggins? Oh wait.

That can’t be right…

No one said anything about Jimmy winning or losing, that's not what the conversation was about. The conversation was about if he's a d***. And he is.

Lol at a Warriors bandwagon fan who joined RealGM during the tail end of their glory years. Keep associating their success with yourself.

Did you respond to the content or nah? Oh that's right you couldn't say anything lmao.

It's called a new user name. You're super smart.

The fact that you're so thin-skinned and have a loser mentality that you can't handle a "big meanie" like Jimmy Butler says way more about you than me... I bet players like Draymond Green really "ruffle your feathers" amirite? What are you to do with all those big meanies who don't act how you want. Being a fan of a dumpster team like the Hornets with zero care for the loser product they keep pushing out year after year checks out lmao. Enjoy your playoff drought and meaningless basketball lol.

Yeah you missed the point... expected.

Jimmy Butler is a gritty competitor. That is a winner. Winning mentality. Doesn't mean you're going to get a ring every time, it means you're a fierce competitor. Heat wouldn't have gone anywhere without Jimmy Butler (which is why they are 100% ass now). He took a garbage roster to the Finals twice.

Not all players are like that. Not all fans like that. They don't fit into your little mold. You wouldn't understand, seeing as how you've never laced 'em up.

Jimmy Butler finally found his team that actually knows how to play and aren't bothered by his standards.

Soft mentality people make me want to throw up. Get out of sports and go watch a broadway play.
