Schoen is desperate. I agree with you.

I really don't care for Russ tbh but we need to add talent in the first 3 rounds regardless of position

Yeah, I think this is a sign they think Ward/Shedeur are 1/2

Or they're really not that high on them if they think they'll be there at 3.

Giants did well to stop gap for this next season. Only a 1 year deal for Wilson so they can still take a QB in the draft to develop. I just don't think it should be at #3.

my gut after this move says more developmental QB like Milroe in early round 2 (or potential trade back into late 1st to get 5th year of control). And then use #3 for BPA or trade down to accumulate draft picks.

But nothing would surprise me with the Giants...still could pick Sanders at 3 (if he's there). But if you really like Sanders why would you try to block him all year with vet QB's...they tried hard with Stafford, they tried hard with Rodgers...they not only brought in Winston they brought in Wilson as well. They could be hedging and maybe they have new info that they don't think either QB will be there at #3...

I'm just at a loss...

This feels odd. I could see gambling on Wilson, or Winston. Why sign both? I realize Winston signed cheap, but he's a guy you gamble with, not a guy you ask to sit on the bench while Wilson gets the starts.

Either one of those guys would have been a fine move. Signing both leaves me scratching my head a bit, though Winston's contract is very cheap, so maybe it's OK. It's probably not the move I'd have done. I wonder what Winston is thinking right now. Did the Giants tell him he was maybe going to ride the bench all year when they signed him?

We honestly know nothing. Giants may know browns and titans taking qb and will take one in later round or trade up. Or they may have eyes set on QB at 3. Point is we needed to upgrade qb room and we are on the way.

Honest question — money notwithstanding, is Russ any better than Danny Jones?

I'm going to say yes to that, maybe even a capital YES. He's better. That said, maybe Wilson ages poorly and he's turning 37 this coming season and maybe he struggles and maybe the Colts find some magic in DJ by using him better and putting him in a better environment than the Giants did, outside of their unexpected run in 2022.

But my opinion, who's better, right now, Wilson > > > DJ. And I don't think it's that close.

Would I be shocked if DJ outperformed Wilson this coming season? Not entirely. It's not crazy to think that DJ might outperform Wilson this year. DJ also, might not even start and he might barely play, so, lots of ways it could go. Colts have a choice to make at QB, while the Giants are almost certainly starting Wilson unless something unexpected happens.

Wilson and Winston did nothing for me. I still think we'll be 3-14 or 5-12 at best. We're still a circus franchise but the only good thing signing these 2 does is that it gives Schoen some breathing room where he doesn't have to take Sanders if he doesn't want to. You can now take the BPA at 3 or even trade back and get some assets. I don't want to take Sanders unless we really REALLY love him. Do not take him just because we need a QB. Going 3-14 next season with Wilson, Winston and DeVito and getting another crack at the QB in the 2026 Draft sounds a lot better than taking Sanders and still going 3-14 and being unable to take a QB in the next draft.

I wonder if Russ means we should be getting Milroe or Shough jerseys printed up

I still don't know what it means. I don't think you completely rule out Sanders (if he's there at #3) because Russ is a 1 year deal and Winston is no long term option either.

But its odd to have Sanders be QB3 all year (since he's not projected to be a big developmental hurdle to getting playing time). That is where signing two vets doesn't make much sense to me if you are planning to draft a QB at #3 and then have him at QB3 all year. What you suggested getting a more developmental type QB that can be QB3 all year would make more sense and then use the #3 pick for BPA or potential a trade down.

I saw this rumor an hour ago and its getting a lot of traction on social media. It just doesn't pass the sniff test. How can CLE afford Watson contract which is one of the worst deal to then acquire Dak who just signed his massive deal.

And Garrett's new deal.

I don't know, but it certainly would explain why MG was so excited when talking about the QB position.

I do agree the MG being sold to come back and being told what they wanted to do at QB is playing a part in this rumor. Like he can't be excited for a Kirk Cousins or some other vet retred. Dak obviously would be interesting I just don't see how the money makes sense.

this report just came out that the Browns privately worked out Cam Ward with GM, HC, and owner all there.
