Neither M Graham or W Johnson (CB) worked out but supposedly Grant looked really good. Grant has been mocked all over the first round, from top 10 to mid-20's. If Bears really like Grant, he's a possibility at #10 as well, all depends upon who is available and who Bears want most. No way of knowing.
i saw a composite mock of all the most accurate "mockers" that had the bears taking best available OT almost universally. they also all had membou gone by #10
NFLmockdraftdatabase has Membou to Jets at #7 as a 'trendy' pick and Campbell to Bears, which fits what you saw. FantasyPros best mockers has the same top 9, but they have Bears picking Banks. Top 8 picks seem to contain some combination of Carter, Ward, Hunter, Sanders, Graham, an O-linemen, an Edge and usually Jeanty. Probably why the Saints mocked pick at #9 is all over the place.
For me, if we keep pick #10, I want a beast of a player. Membou is a beast, but I'd also be happy with Emmanwori or Jeanty. Give me a mauler and difference maker.

Yes. Just taking a LT because we may need one next year would only make sense if there was a Joe Alt on the Board. Campbell might be a good one, but then again he's no sure thing. I think Membou will be gone before #10. And Jeanty might be gone as well unless the Raiders pass on him. Jeanty could be a future All-Pro. I would still prefer a trade down because we can fill the power back role in the 2nd round, with my preference being Quinshon Judkins of Ohio State. Which leads me to Emmanwori. He has the physical tools to become the best safety in the NFL. We're either getting old at Safety or we have a player (Brisker) that's one more concussion away from retirement and should not be offered a second contract with any sort of guarantees. I'd even draft Emmanwori at #10 if there are no trades down that make sense. I know that's high for a Safety but Dennis Allen could scheme him so many different ways. He would definitely be a difference maker. Covering TEs, blitzing, run stopping, and a wide range in coverage due to his speed, height and 43" vertical.

I like Jeanty and Emmanwori and Warren also sounds good but one thing that does worry me about him is it sounds it took him a few years to put things together in college where Bowers just came in and dominated so Warren's production could be by being more experienced and probably physically developed than a lot of the guys he was playing against but I do like the way Warren blocks and he would add a ton of flexibility to the offense so I'm good with him too. I do lean toward wanting guys that can be one of the best players a their position and I think these 3 can do it. I would love to trade down for Emmanwori but honestly if there isn't a trade there and Jeanty is gone I may just grab him that guy looks pretty sure fire to me at a critical position.
I like the lineman in the second round there are some good size and versatile players there and actual LT. I like versatile players for injury depth and Zabel seems really versatile and skilled to take at depth for IOL and can probably handle limited tackle if there are injuries. I believe he has a history of doing this and NFL is different but he is just tenacious and tough so I like him a lot but he's probably gone where we draft. If we could trade back to get Emmanwori and move up the first second round pick to get Zabel and then take Tyleik with the other 2nd round pick that would probably be one of my favorite outcomes but it may be tough to trade back and I probably wouldn't trade to move up to get Zabel otherwise so that probably isn't likely to happen just those 3 would be a great outcome for me. Seems like Savaiinaea may be a good option if Zabel is off the board.

Teven Jenkins contract looks to be below the comp pick threshold. I wasn't expecting his value to be this low.
1 year, $3,050,000 contract with the Cleveland Browns, including $1,500,000 signing bonus, $2,670,000 guaranteed.

Re: Bears 11.0: Free Agency, College Pro days, Draft & beyond
Now that Wilson is with the Giants and they have Winston as a backup, I think chances are low that they take Sanders at 3. If I'm the Giants, I'm trading back and targeting Membou or do an even bigger trade back and take Taylor Booker. They NEED offensive linemen. This can give up an opportunity to move up to 3 and basically have the pick of the litter, especially if Ward and Sanders go 1&2. Even though I think the Giants should be shopping the pick now, I think it's unlikely the move off it to take OL and pass on either Carter or Hunter. And the price would probably be too steep for us to move up, we should definitely look into what it would take. With this draft being considered not a top-heavy as usual, the cost to move up might be lower than usual to move up from 10 to 3 (but again, unlikely)
More realistically, I think Membou becomes a real candidate at 3 now.

Another fine job of trading up for the Bears. Some day, a Bears regime will value picks.

Not as injured? Tevins' tenure was exemplified by always being injured. He only played 65% of snaps in the 14 games he played last year.

They took a calculated gamble on a high upside lineman. When he played, he was great value for where he was picked. How come everything has to be construed to take a shot at the Bears?

I like this mock draft from someone at NFL.com:
10). Will Campbell- OT
39) Mike Green- Edge
41) Donovan Jackson- OG
72). Kaleb Johnson- RB
We would have a nice succession plan for the offensive line, get another edge rusher, and our RB. I would hope the later rounds we'd take a CB, a safety, and maybe a LB or WR.

Steal of the draft if we can get Mike Green at 39

That would be great. And Kaleb Johnson in the 3rd would be nice too. We'd have an all C/Kaleb backfield.

That second one shows what I think he does at an elite level and that's keep his feet moving through whatever and he has amazing agility and balance. Does it through contact too he will get hit and just keep running through it. That combined with his speed he breaks a couple tackles and he can put it away quick. Catches are awesome too but just his overall coordination and spatial awareness.

Anyone think Warren is so big he’s also like adding to the o line? I know Ben plays a lot of two TEs

Yeah I see Emannwori as a Kyler Gordon on the juice. Those two together would be electric.

Probably had a lot to do with the fact that OSU has 8 players likely to go in the first two rounds, compared to just one at Jeanty's team. And they're already going to see Jeanty when he comes to visit Chicago.

I've touted Bond in an earlier post. He's the kind of WR3 Ben Johnson would like to have. Can play in the slot or out wide. Great speed. Good hands.
