Chiming in that I think trading Giannis for Giannis' sake is a totally valid debate topic at this point. Do I want it to happen? No. If it happens would I be mad? Only at years of incompetence by management. He deserves another ring. Difficult to believe it will happen in Milwaukee.

He wanted us to make many of these moves. We mortgaged our future & potentially the franchise. I would be mad at him if he asked out immediately after he didn't have the best big 3 in the league on paper, especially if he insisted on a move that didn't allow us to get our picks back.

Right. Jokic could retire tomorrow and I don't think it would shock too many people.

At least with no decent picks, there won't be a tank. The Treadmill will be like that old warm blanket we all remember.

Giannis fingerprints are all over this team and their lack of continued success after the championship. The Bucks believed in him, paid him, and have given him everything he's wanted. I'm not sure they "owe" him much of anything beyond continued attempts at making the team better. He made his bed

Thats fair that we'd like our picks back but why is a team with no current success going to sell everything for Giannis? Portland is in that category as well.

Houston and OKC make sense especially if they fall flat in the playoffs.

If i were to entertain any offer with Giannis, Im calling the Spurs and i think its a team that Giannis would actually be happy to be traded too.

Make it a three way trade

Spurs get: Giannis / McCollum
Bucks get: Zion / Castle
Pelicans get: Vassell / Johnson / ATL 2025 1st rd pick

Which team says no?

Than Flip Dame to the ROckets for FVV and Jabari Smith

Well, im assuming the plan is for the team who wants Giannis to acquire those picks first or for it to be a multi team deal

It's going to be difficult but there's still a way. We all need to be fans of whoever's playing against OKC during the playoffs. They're our ticket.

We don't control our own destiny but it's the best available option. My comment is more aimed at the idea that in the scenario - retaining KPJ is kind of a who GAF.

I mean, why? You're actually hoping to trade Giannis for their collection of picks with next to zero lottery upside?

https://fanspo.com/nba/teams/oklahoma-city-thunder/21/draft-picks

Houston's the answer. They've got young talent, pick swap rights to Brooklyn's '27, Phoenix's unprotected '27, and the two most favorable '29 picks between Houston, Dallas, and Phoenix.

Damn those 2 29s are juicy!

Why do we want Zion lmao. Just get the bets picks you can and if we don't own ours we can run the OJ Mayo type years and make the play ins until we have good picks. If we're trading Giannis the were trading Dame and Kuzma too, there is at least 2 good 1sts in that and 2 mid ones. Plus the added benefit that Doc may just retire next year instead of dealing with a tear down.

I’ve seen some half serious posts about it being high time for another billboard. I say forget that, set our eyes on bigger fish.

Billboards are for cowards. We need some facetime with the fellas.

You can be mad that the front office put is in this position (it was still worth it for the championship), but if you're gonna pre-emptively nuke the Giannis era for assets, tanking for the next 2-years only to give up a couple Top-10 picks to the Pelicans seems like a pretty awful rebuild strategy.

Zion, Flagg (if they got #1) and our what they can actually deal of our picks/swaps back would be interesting. I'm far less interested if the pick is #4.

Flagg is the move.Zion (what?) and firsts don't come close to Giannis's value.

If you're going to trade Giannis, it has to be because you think there is a player you can get who has the potential to be top 10 or top 5 in the league. The only one in this draft that has that potential (absent a fluke like Jokic) is Flagg.

It all comes down to player evaluation. I'm not trading Giannis for a guy (Zion) who makes KM look like an ironman and a bunch of draft picks.

The NOP picks and swaps are somewhat compromised by future deals NOP made with those picks.

I want our Portland picks back. And Portland has a bucketload of interesting young players as well. That said, I don't think he'd want to go to Portland.

Those picks just became more valuable.

To the why Zion talk, remember you have to take back a big salary. Better off taking someone like Zion who's still young, very good when he plays, and has upside if you can get him to work a bit harder. If he manages to stay healthy for a few years he obviously helps you not suck, but also could massively increase his trade value and you flip him before he gets hurt again. Compared to tons of other trades or ideas where you eat a guy like say Duncan Robinson, he's a miles better choice there
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

Still maintain that if Giannis is to be dealt I hope San Antonio wins the lottery for his sake and ours. Flagg/Castle and all those picks is about as good of a package as we could expect if we're going with a rebuild.

I am so intrigued by the idea of Giannis/Wemby/Fox/Vassell too. That's multiple titles if not dynastic.

If the Bucks trade him to the Blazers and the Blazers relocate to Seattle, that'd be scenario I could live with (@ JRoy 8-) )

Hopefully Phil Knight will buy the Blazers and keep them in Portland. The sooner Jodi is gone, the better.

I'm assuming all of this is in the case that he actually asks out this summer, right? Fine with discussing Giannis trades in that event, even if I think it's still unlikely. But if you're actually suggesting that we pro-actively trade him despite him relaying that he's still content here, then I honestly have to question your sanity, and if you think this franchise, this city, and an entire generation of young sports fans would ever recover from it (good luck with that). If you have a GM that thinks building an eventual contender is easier by trading a committed Giannis than it is building around him, then that dude is a **** idiot that should never be allowed in the building.

It’s worth it to keep going with Giannis until he requests otherwise
