Coby White/ his agent and the Magic could have agreed upon deal where while the contract isn't signed, both sides have a general idea of what Coby White's next contract is going to look like and Coby agrees he will stay with them. The Magic would simply not trade for him at all if they get the word that Coby White wouldn't resign with their team, so his expiring contract should not impact his trade value too much.

you think he will agree to 20 or less..and not sure he can extend for more? with what he makes now..i would think he bets on himself and waits the yr to be ufa..so yea contract matters big time

magic need a 7 ast and 10-12 shots a night guy with fair defense...with a good 3 pt shot..he may think he is #! option on magic he would be 4th option player

Also don't really understand the Lakers just throwing away Reaves who while I believe is very overrated still is a productive role player.

Would adding Tristan Da Silva and a Magic unprotected 2027 or 2029 1st round pick, while getting to move one of Nikola Vucevic or Patrick Williams to clear salary, along with a late lottery pick this year from them and Anthony Black be enough for the Bulls to move on from Coby White?

It would definitely make the conversation a lot more interesting.

that's getting too rich for ORL and not taking Williams or Vuc...ORL will be butting up against the apron as it is - not giving up unprotected picks and solid prospects AND taking on bad money for Coby (and his potential overpay). I like Coby...but there are others that could do the job in ORL.

Neither Nikola Vucevic nor Patrick Williams would be traded to the Magic in any trade for Coby White trade. Very likely,Patrick Williams or Nikola Vucecvic would be on the Hornets on my reconstructed version of the original trade proposal.

OK...but if LAL's final goal is KCP, ORL takes Reaves over Coby any day...even including their frp which would go to LAL instead of elsewhere. ORL could take back Kleber, Vincent or Vanderbilt to salary balance KCP. ORL could even include a C, which is what LAL needs more, in WCJ or Goga. But ORL's certainly not offering the same package + 2 really strong prospects in Black and da Silva to get Coby and then give him $20m+ when Reaves has 2 more years at $14.5 per.

IF Reaves is unavailable, ORL could deal direct with CHI, but despite Coby's recent burst...I'd say ORL frp and a salary match (say Cole Anthony, who's expiring, or WCJ-who I assume doesn't interest). If it's Black and Jett, then I'd only offer DEN 25 frp with them. Sorry - Don't mean to hijack your thread...I just keep seeing KCP and not much else landing in LAL and it kills it for me...because I'd rather have Reaves' playmaking over Coby (either would be great for ORL).

Not enough ">" to be honest. KCP is worth an expiring and a late FRP at most.

Closer to costing a late first to get an expiring for KCP. Not saying that Orlando should pay to get off him but that is likely what it would take. Very similar to the Smart trade this year.

Regarding OP. Reaves and White is tasters choice, I would take Reaves myself.
