Re: 2025 Game Thread
yea Jakucionis has some Luka esque game in him. I think we'll resign CamT, not much else teams with cap and I don't see anybody offering more than the MLE which we'll definitely match, but he's our tank commander right now and probably our only exciting player to actually watch on the team. I can see us trading Cam Johnson if a team offers like the #10 pick in this draft or so. If not then i feel like we'll try to trade up in the draft, we have alot of picks. Anyway, lets finish this season on a losing streak lol Pelicans are not too far behind.

Nobody else has cap room,
Not much out there worth spending on.
i'd imagine the odds are pretty high he gets a deal in same genre as Claxton/CamJ.
again barring something unexpected, I'd guess next year's starting lineup contains DLo, CamT, CamJ, Clax. In a perfect world Flagg or Bailey is the 5th starter, though the numbers would probably have it as more likely they draft a guard who comes off bench behind DLo since there are more of them in the top 8 (vj, harper, johnson, fears, jakuconios, traore etc).
i think id be more surprised to see camt elsewhere next year than clax.
Is it out of the realm of possibility there’s a S&T for scrub on an expiring and a potentially good ‘25-‘27 first round pick?
Wouldn’t be shocked.

Maxwell Lewis is a **** steal. He’s definitely got long term potential.

Atlanta just doesn’t have a sense of urgency.

I want to be mad at the team for winning... But they're trotting out a skeleton crew... The org. just doesn't have it in them to blatantly tank like some other teams...

And at this point we’re almost locked into 5 or 6 without a jump, so unless we windup 6 and Philly is 5, and Philly jumps, can we really even complain?
And what if we windup 5, and Philly or Toronto at 6 or 7 jumps top 4? Do we get mad then?
I was apprehensive and frustrated when it looked like we might really make the play-in, but winding up somewhere between 5-7 record-wise isn’t worth getting worked up about, the higher chance the better, no doubt about it, but is what it is, let the chips fall where they may, you know?
That was a lot of

That was a lot ofcommas and cliches!
yeah considering they've also been highly competitive and Jordi looks like a stud, it's pretty best case. just need to get lucky on a top 4. which even if they ended 1 of the 4 worst was only a coin flip.

Re: 2025 Game Thread
That was closer then it needed to be. Honestly don’t understand why Cam Johnson and Clax get so many 4th quarter minutes. Silly.

There’s a few really bad teams this season and some (e.g. Jazz) have been blatantly tanking from opening night so our floor was never going to be worst record in the league
I don’t feel too bad about where we are as there’s a reasonable foundation already
Teams like the Jazz need a lot more rebuilding work than getting lucky with one ping pong ball

this Jordi quote is why. their season long win% is .333, they know they are going to lose 2 of every 3 games they play even if they are competing hard and more talented than this current version of the team without camt, simmons, schroder, dfs, etc., and at this point it would be almost impossible for the teams with fewer wins than them to win enough to pass nets even if Nets lose every remaining game.
Jordi is focused on building the culture knowing at best it's only going to shift their lotto odds by a marginal amount whether they are 5/6/7.

Yeah, there’s only 13 or so games left & there’s virtually no chance of us falling any further in the rankings
Only risk is passing the Sixers and Raps
Worst case scenario is 7th worst record and best is 5th

Re: 2025 Game Thread
Mock drafts has us picking Derik Queen at #5. This dude is a baller and straight bucket, he looks a little slow and robotic but dude is so crafty and knows how to get to his spots, he reminds me of a little Jokic honestly. He's a little undersized for a 5 and a little too slow for a 4 so we'll see how that'll play out. Still doesn't stop guys like Sengun, BAM etc. from being effective.

I’m no draft expert but he doesn’t seem to be what we need
Just have to trust Marks as he does have a good record in that regard

Good loss
D’lo and Keon are very good tank commanders
If Keon develops into a good player, he owes a big debt of gratitude to Jordi for continually giving him minutes

We need anything at this point we need talent no matter what position, we cannot be picky, We take the best player available. I hope we can get another pick in the top 12 or so, imagine drafting Queen and Jakucionis, that would be a homerun. Or Fears and Tre Johnson etc... this would jumpstart our future. This draft is loaded with talent, maybe not All NBA level talent but this draft def has guys that will be solid players.

Re: 2025 Game Thread
I'm almost positive that the team is going to come out of the draft with a point guard. There are a few who have slid around the draft board and are in our range, or realistically attainable via a trade up.

Re: 2025 Game Thread
Flagg and Fears
Harper and Riley
Tre and Queen
VJ and Fland
Ace and Traore
Would all be an interesting start.
‘26 is still the much better draft imho, so adding a couple true building blocks, even if not full on franchise cornerstones, while remaining bad next year is fine as well.

I'm so proud of this team for playing like complete Johan Petro against the Raptors. This is what was needed for the greater good. Keep it up!!!

yep biggest loss of the season. 5 or 6 basically locked in now. 9 games left, if raps go 2-7, nets would need to go 5-4 just to tie. and raps play philly, charlotte twice, and brooklyn again. also dallas and sas.
philly has toronto and washington, they are tanking so hard they may not win more than 1 more game. im expecting nets to end up 6th. but either way about a coin flips chance of top 4 pick.
the way the draft is shaping up i feel like there is the clear top 2, then another tier with bailey, vj, jakuconias, queen, fears, tre johnson where im honestly not that sure who is the best choice so im just trusting in marks. if milwaukee pick can remain top 20 that's icing on cake.

Re: 2025 Game Thread
The Sixers are so fkn bad
3 max players and arguably the worst team in the league is quite the achievement
