He turned over the entire team + massive future picks for exactly the same result. Not good, not good at all.

the whole point was to take those assets and get another guy who could lead this team to wins on his own. we still don't have that guy.

if brunson was out for a year, could we do better than the play-in ? doesn't seem like it. not sure we'd even make that since we don't play defense.

The problem is KAT and Bridges are not some random scrubs. They are both really talented. Everything we're seeing screams, "Bring in a new coach," because so much of what we're seeing feels like either mismanagement or a failure to maximize talent.

We are definitely a lottery team without Brunson. KAT ‘s awful defense outweighs any positive he brings on offense and Mikal is a mid role player at best. And then we have one of the worst benches in the league

We look like top-tier against scrubs and like scrubs against top-tier. I don't think it's our personnel - on paper this is the best team we have had since the 70's, it's our coach.

One of the worst benches? I think it’s easily the worst

I will ask again, explain how a roster with shamet payne and precious as 3 guys in your rotation and say it’s not a personnel problem. Blaming the coach is lazy, blaming the gm(Leon) for not building more depth should be the blame. Again if you look at their record 45-27, 3rd in the east with the seasons the cavs are having 65 win pace, the champion c’s 60 win pace, the knicks are right on target and will pretty much nail their vegas win total.

was there no way to keep Donte and trade Miles?

last years team would smoke this team.

I find it funny how many knicks fans literally take Brunson’s impact for granted. As if this team should not skip a beat while missing their best player. He’s not just their best player, he’s their leader, floor general. Losing your pg is arguably the most important position on the floor. Honestly being 5-5 in his absence still holding onto the 3rd spot staying above water is pretty much as good as you could have hoped.

Not a game to lose any sleep over.

Gotta somehow survive these last 10 games and pray no more injuries happen.

Minny only wanted Divo and to make salaries work. So deuce would not have worked. Second, it’s almost april it’s really time to move on from last years team. Sure last years team was more likeable, but once ihart was leaving along with the mitch injury, the knicks would NOT be in a better spot. They would have had randle at the 5..that would have been a mess. They still would have had a depth problem and they rightfully so didn’t want to extend Randle. Again this ex-girlfriend syndrome is getting annoying, it’s time to move on

Kolek deserves no flak. For playing his first big mintes? Kolek had what 1 turnover in 2 games? Playing HUGE minutes in a pinch.
And well on defense, I might add. Wait till he gets his legs under his shot, huh, lights out.

These people here are bugging.

I thought Kolek did fine but pretty obvious he is not ready to play meaningful minutes in the playoffs. He plays like Frank on offense.

Yeah cause Wright got so much to show for the future of the Knicks. That guy was a walking corpse out there with no energy whatsoever after Thibs gave him a chance

It says Wright had 3 dimes but can't remember any of them.

the whole kolek thing is a distraction. he's not gonna play in the playoffs as you stated. he's not so good that he's gonna make any real effect on wins and losses this year. so he doesn't really matter. aren't the knicks supposed to be competing for a championship ? isn't that why we have no money left to spend and nothing left to trade ?

I’ve seen some really good ball movement early in the game last night. KAT, Bridges and OG seemed to play well off each other and had some good opportunities with Payne as a willing passer.

The main issue when we don’t have all of the starting five is these guys spent so little time practicing together so simple mistakes come out easily on both ends of the floor. Kolek missing an easy pass to an open OG and causing a turnover or not recovering to an open corner three while unnecessarily double teaming says less about Kolek’s abilities and more about his in game or even practice experiences with the starters. This was a choice made by the coaching staff to start the season. We might have won a game or two earlier relying so much on starters and sacrificing valuable practice time and in game experiences for the bench players but it costs us dearly now.

i think the starting lineup has good pieces but they don't really fit together that well
